The Denver Nuggets are priced as a 3.5-point favorite tonight against the Phoenix Suns, and my Nuggets vs. Suns predictions expect Nikola Jokic to exploit Phoenix's interior absences in this NBA Cup clash.

TOP PICK
Nuggets vs Suns prediction: Nuggets -3.5
The Denver Nuggets haven't been at their best offensively to start the season, but this is an excellent matchup to get rolling against the Phoenix Suns.
Phoenix ranks last in defensive rating and has surrendered at least 122 points in all three games. The Suns are also without starting center Mark Williams, leaving them vulnerable on the glass against Nikola Jokic.
Jokic is coming off a triple-double against New Orleans, finishing with 21 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists. Phoenix ranks last in rebound percentage, so Denver should generate plenty of second-chance opportunities.
The Nuggets have won both of their games this season by at least six points, and I expect them to control the interior again.

Nuggets vs Suns combo
I'm eyeing a Denver win, but it'll be low-scoring. They're averaging just 110.8 PPG and scored only 104 against New Orleans on Wednesday, while Phoenix is producing 109.3 per night. Neither offense has been particularly consistent, and despite the Suns' defensive struggles, I expect this matchup to stay below the total.
I'll conclude this combo with Devin Booker. He's Phoenix's top playmaker, averaging 5.3 assists per game. Book has cashed the Over in back-to-back contests, dishing out seven dimes each time. Denver is allowing 6.3 assists per night to opposing point guards.
Nuggets vs Suns combo
- Nuggets -3.5
- Under 231.5
- Devin Booker Over 5.5 assists
Nuggets vs Suns player props
Nuggets player prop: Nikola Jokic Over 24.5 points
Play up to 60%.
Jokic has cleared this line just once in 2026-27, but as I discussed, this matchup heavily favors him. The Nuggets big man faces a depleted Suns frontcourt, and Phoenix is allowing just under 24 PPG to opposing centers.
The Suns have struggled to protect the paint and finish defensive possessions, which should create plenty of opportunities for Jokic around the basket.
He can also score efficiently without needing a ton of shots. With Phoenix lacking size and rim protection, I expect Denver to lean heavily on its superstar offensively.
Suns player prop: Collin Gillespie Over 2.5 threes
Play up to 47%.
Collin Gillespie is shooting just 24% from downtown through three games, but he's coming off a 3-for-8 showing earlier this week, and I like his volume.
Gillespie is averaging 7.0 attempts per contest, with 87.5% of his field goals coming from beyond the arc, and the Nuggets are around the middle of the pack in the NBA when it comes to defending the triple.
Denver is also allowing right around 3.0 makes from deep per game to opposing guards. I expect Gillespie's volume to be high again, increasing his chances of draining three or more treys.
