The reigning NBA champions will have revenge on their mind Friday against the 76ers after dropping their season opener on Banner Night. There's no better way to accomplish that than by beginning the NBA Cup group stage with a victory.

The New York Knicks surely wants to erase the memory of falling at Madison Square Garden the night its players received their 2026 championship rings.

That's why my Knicks vs. 76ers prediction has the Larry O'Brien winners getting their win back on Friday in an NBA Cup group stage clash as the narrow favorites and getting back to the .500 mark.

Philadelphia will have home-court advantage this time around, with tipoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET at Xfinity Mobile Arena as we dive into our NBA picks for Friday, Oct. 30.

 TOP PICK
Knicks vs 76ers prediction: Knicks -2.5

Play up to 55%.

After dropping three in a row to begin the campaign, the New York Knicks enter Friday's matchup with the Philadelphia 76ers with some positive momentum, winning their last two with a net rating of 10.0 compared to -7.2 during their initial losing skid.

What cost them on Oct. 20 in their 106-100 loss was poor efficiency. New York converted just 37% of its shot attempts, including 33% from behind the arc. Those percentages have risen to 44% and 40.5%, respectively, over the last two games, but the former still isn't up to par.

Philadelphia sits atop the standings at 4-1, but it's a touch misleading. It needed double-digit comebacks to knock off both the Cleveland Cavaliers and Indiana Pacers. Now, Jaylen Brown is listed as questionable with knee soreness.

The Knicks arguably have more at stake here for tiebreaker scenarios later in the season. As the reigning Cup winners, there's no better time to make a statement over an elite division and conference rival in the Sixers.

Covers COVERS INTEL: New York currently ranks fourth in the Association in rebounding at 48.2. Since the start of the 2025-26 season, it's 53-21 straight up and 47-27 ATS when outrebounding an opponent.

Knicks vs 76ers combo

The City of Brotherly Love has been incredibly kind to the visiting Knicks in recent memory, as tonight's visitors are 9-1 in their last 10 road games in Philadelphia.

The Oct. 20 opener had a combined total of just 206 points, well below Friday's line of 227. These two teams are currently a combined 2-8 in this market, both ranking in the bottom third of the Association in points per contest.

LeBron James is coming off a 10-assist line versus the Pacers, marking his second time as a Sixer that he's gone Over 6.5 dimes. He had seven the last time he saw New York, and his 12 potential assists are far and away the best number on his team.

Knicks vs 76ers player props

Knicks player prop: Jalen Brunson Under 27.5 points

Play up to 68%.

For a gifted scorer like Jalen Brunson, his offensive contributions haven't come as naturally as he'd hope through five games.

His 38 points in Wednesday's six-point win over the Chicago Bulls were the first time the superstar point guard shot better than 43% from the field this season.

Brunson went well Under Friday's prop of 27.5 points with 21 on 6-of-19 shooting against the Sixers, which was the third time in the last four meetings that's been the case. Until we see some consistency with his shot, especially against competition that's not the dreadful Bulls, projecting Unders will feel like the go-to move.

76ers player prop: Joel Embiid Over 8.5 rebounds

Play up to 60%.

New York's frontcourt giants, Karl-Anthony Towns and Andre Drummond, combined to bring down 26 rebounds on Oct. 20, while Joel Embiid was the only Sixers player to reach double digits with 11 in 33 minutes of action.

The former league Most Valuable Player is one of eight players currently averaging better than 10 boards per game, and that's a number he's reached in three of his four appearances, thus far.

The Knicks' prowess on the glass is well documented, so Philly absolutely needs Embiid to once again be a force rebounding the basketball to bridge the gap.
