The Bucks may very well be the worst team in the Eastern Conference, and perhaps even basketball. Even so, I'm keeping the door open for tonight's visitors to cover a massive spread in the City of Brotherly Love.

Milwaukee may appear to be roadkill in a Giannis Antetokounmpo-less world, but my Bucks vs. 76ers prediction gives the visitors a fighting chance to at least cover a double-digit spread in front of what should be a raucous Philly fanbase.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET at Xfinity Mobile Arena, with Milwaukee listed as a hefty 12.5-point underdog away from home.

Let's dive into my analysis and NBA picks for this Eastern Conference showdown on Saturday, Oct. 24.

 TOP PICK
Bucks vs 76ers prediction: Bucks +12.5

Siding with a squad playing on the second night of a back-to-back stretch that just allowed 135 points to the Chicago Bulls — a team that got decimated by 43 points in their season opener — obviously comes with inherent risk. As the saying goes, though, with great risk comes great reward.

What keeps a cover at +12.5 points in play here is that the Milwaukee Bucks are scoring 113.1 points per 100 possessions through two games, which is good enough for 13th in the Association. That's nearly 10 points better than tonight's opposition in the Philadelphia 76ers, who, despite being a perfect 2-0 straight up, only rank 23rd overall in that department (103.8 points per 100 possessions).

The Bucks are essentially trotting out last year's Miami Heat depth chart after shipping Antetokounmpo off to South Beach, with the team's three top scorers — Tyler Herro, Kasparas Jakucionis, and Jaime Jaquez Jr. — all being new additions. For what it's worth, the 2025-26 Heat ranked first in covering the spread on no rest with a 13-4 record, with Milwaukee not far behind at 9-6 ATS.

Philadelphia is rock-solid defensively (97.1 points allowed per 100 possessions, fourth), but it can be caught napping, evident by a 29-point deficit it had to claw back from on Thursday to stun the Cleveland Cavaliers. That provides enough optimism for me to back the Bucks at +12.5, even down to +10.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Milwaukee sits second and third, respectively, in 3-pointers made (17.0) and attempted (43.5) per contest, while the 76ers are currently converting less than 10 (9.0, 21st). In 2025-26, Philadelphia owned a losing record of 23-26 ATS when an opponent buried more shots from behind the arc.

Bucks vs 76ers combo

Enough leeway was given in riding the Bucks to cover, but going beyond that to project an outright victory is suspending belief too much. A shocking upset would be due to Philly playing with its venison dinner, and nothing more.

Nothing screams an Over in the totals market more than having a team that loves to score and can't defend, with Milwaukee a perfect 2-0 thus far.

Only two other players — Brandon Miller and Anthony Edwards - have attempted more 3-pointers than Herro (21) through two outings. All he'll need is three on Saturday, which feels safe considering he's averaging 4.5 on 10 tries.

Bucks vs 76ers player props

Bucks player prop: Jaime Jaquez Jr. Over 4.5 rebounds

The 76ers sit fourth from the bottom statistically in rebounds allowed through two games at 49.5, and 28th overall in opponents' defensive rebounding at 37.5.

Jaquez Jr. currently leads Milwaukee in that category at nine per game, which is nearly double that of the five he contributed in Miami a season ago.

His contested rebounding chances (four) are twice as many as any one of his Bucks teammates, and he's one of just two players (Myles Turner) with double-digit rebounding chances (10), as well.

The 31.5 minutes Jaquez Jr. is playing is tops on Milwaukee, so those aforementioned opportunities on the glass should continue coming his way, despite the fact his 6-foot-6 frame wouldn't usually accommodate being a team's most reliable rebounder.

76ers player prop: Tyrese Maxey Over 23.5 points

As a part of one of the most stacked starting units we've seen in quite some time, Philadelphia seems quite content making Tyrese Maxey the focal point of its offense.

He's currently the team leader in minutes played (40.5), points (30), field goal attempts (21), 3-point attempts (eight), free throws made (seven) and attempted (8.5), along with usage rate (27.0).

That's not surprising for someone coming off the second All-Star berth of his career, but when suiting up alongside former MVP winners LeBron James, Joel Embiid, and Jaylen Brown, it's something to take extra notice of.

Maxey's career-best 54 points came versus the Bucks in November of last year, and his 24.8 points across 19 career meetings are his third-best number against any one team.
