Chris Hatfield’s expert pick: Rays moneyline

Price: 47¢ at Polymarket

Tampa Bay’s rotation decision looked strange on Friday. In practice, Kevin Cash put Nick Martinez against the Milwaukee Brewers' toughest starter and preserved Drew Rasmussen for Logan Henderson.

That leaves the Rays with the better starter at an underdog price. Rasmussen’s 2.67 ERA is backed by a 3.06 xERA and a rare combo: a strong strikeout rate at 26% with a low 6% barrel rate. He has sharpened further in October, allowing three runs across 21 innings with 23 strikeouts and three walks.

Henderson is legitimate, but his first two postseason starts ended after five and four innings, with only six combined strikeouts.

Milwaukee’s home field (and if last night is any indication, it's a real advantage paired with the Rays' poor home/away splits) and bullpen depth keep this from being an aggressive play beyond 48%, but Tampa Bay has a strong pitching edge. They shouldn't be an underdog, and I’ll back them to capitalize.

Colby Marchio’s expert pick: Jonathan Aranda Over 0.5 hits

Price: 62¢ at Polymarket

Tampa Bay Rays first baseman Jonathan Aranda enters Saturday with the highest matchup rating on Batters-Box, covering 100% of Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Logan Henderson's pitch mix.

Across 70 elite ratings over the last three seasons, Aranda has recorded a hit 70% of the time. That rate remains just as strong on the road at 70%.

In his last 30 plate appearances this postseason, the big fella owns a .593 SLG, .893 OPS, and .371 ISO, while generating a hard-hit rate above 57%.

In a small sample of 19 left-handed hitters faced this postseason, Henderson has allowed just a 33% ground-ball rate, while those hitters own a .346 xBA and .546 xSLG.

Ethan Diamandas’s expert pick: Junior Caminero Over 0.5 home runs

Price: 19¢ at Polymarket

Junior Caminero hit 42 home runs during the regular season, and Henderson hands him a fastball to attack. The rookie throws his four-seamer roughly 46% of the time, and Caminero slugged .641 with a 62.2% hard-hit rate against four-seamers this year.

Five of the 14 home runs Henderson allowed in the regular season came on that four-seamer.

Caminero showed Friday that Milwaukee's velocity does not slow him down, ripping a 112.7 mph double off a 101.5 mph Jacob Misiorowski fastball. He walks into Game 2 squaring up the hardest stuff on either staff.

Diamandas dives deeper with his Rays vs. Brewers home run predictions for Game 2.
