The Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres will play the second of their three-game set at Petco Park on Wednesday, April 15.

My top Mariners vs. Padres predictions and MLB picks expect Seattle to even the series tonight.

Who will win Mariners vs Padres today: Mariners (-104)

San Diego Padres righty Randy Vasquez outpitched his underlying metrics across 133 2/3 innings in 2025, and he’s off to an even better start this year with an unsustainably low 1.02 ERA alongside a 4.23 xERA, 96.8% strand rate, and 46.7 hard-hit rate.

The luck runs out tonight for Vasquez, and I’m anticipating the Seattle Mariners handing the 27-year-old righty his worst stat line of the season.

The Mariners sport a 10th-ranked wOBA and seventh-ranked ISO against righties dating back to the beginning of 2025, and they play their home games in a pitcher-friendly park.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Randy Vasquez has the fourth-highest xFIP among pitchers with at least 130 innings pitched since the beginning of the 2025 season.

Mariners vs Padres Over/Under pick: Over 8 (-110)

The Friars also stand to do their share of damage against Seattle righty Emerson Hancock because while he’s off to a solid start with just four runs allowed through his first three starts, his 2.04 ERA is also way below the 4.81 mark he posted across his first 162 2/3 innings in the majors.

San Diego also has the sixth-highest ISO against righties to start the season, so I’m anticipating both lineups having success at the dish tonight.
