Josh Inglis' expert pick: Mariners/Twins Over 8.5
Price: 53¢ (-113) at Polymarket
The projections love runs here and point to the Minnesota Twins offense being undervalued. The fair price sits around -137, with more than 10 runs projected, and the scoring could come early. Luis Castillo has allowed 31 hits in 23 innings and is backed by a Seattle Mariners bullpen that has leaned heavily on its high-leverage arms. Seattle should contribute as well, with Connor Prielipp making just his second MLB start. Add in double-digit winds blowing out to center, and the conditions point toward multiple crooked-number innings.
Neil Parker's expert pick: Cubs/Padres NRFI
Price: 53¢ (-113) at Polymarket
The Chicago Cubs and San Diego Padres have scored at the fourth- and second-lowest percentage in the first inning this season, and this is a solid pitching matchup between Matthew Boyd and Randy Vasquez. The Friars sit 28th in wOBA against southpaws, and Boyd will be making his second start back from a biceps injury. On the other side, Vasquez has increased the velocity and movement on his fastball, while being more aggressive overall, and it's led to more swinging strikes, so I’m anticipating his six-pitch mix to keep the Cubbies off balance early.
Joe Osborne's expert pick: Guardians moneyline
Price: 56¢ (-127) at Polymarket
The Cleveland Guardians look primed to bounce back tonight behind Parker Messick, who’s pitching like a future ace with a 1.76 ERA through five starts — all of which have resulted in a Cleveland win. He’s also supported by a bullpen that’s been lights out recently, posting a 1.86 ERA over the past week. On the other side, Steven Matz has been inconsistent and now faces a Cleveland lineup that’s crushing lefties while keeping strikeouts low. Add in the Guardians’ 10-2 record following losses, and this sets up well for a W.
