We’ve got a busy betting slate around Major League Baseball today, including a matchup between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Kansas City Royals.

Offense has been hard to come by for the Jays in this series, but George Springer seems to be still swinging a hot bat. I expect him to keep it rolling by crossing home plate today.

Blue Jays predictions for September 21

Today’s Blue Jays best bet: Springers helps Jays spring to life

George Springer Over 0.5 runs (-120 at BetVictor)

The Toronto Blue Jays look to avoid the sweep in the series finale this afternoon.

Trey Yesavage makes his second career start, while veteran righty Michael Wacha toes the rubber for the Kansas City Royals

Wacha is 9-12 and owns a 4.21 xERA this season and is coming off his last start, where he allowed seven runs in just 2 ⅔ innings. In fact, he’s allowed 15 runs over his last four outings.

The Royals starter also struggles against right-handed hitters a little more, seeing his opponent's OPS jump from .652 against lefties to .730 versus righties.

Enter George Springer

He’s a right-handed runs scoring machine with eight runs scored over his last 10 games.

In total, Springer has crossed the plate 101 times this season, which leads the Blue Jays. His .436 OBP over his last 54 games is a big reason for this, and he’s scored 59 times in that stretch.

Springer also sports a .353 average, going 6-for-17 against Wacha throughout his career. I expect him to continue to have success in this spot.

Today’s Blue Jays same-game parlay (SGP)

Springer Over 0.5 runs

Springer Over 1.5 total bases

Yesavage Over 5.5 strikeouts

For the second leg of the SGP, I’ll continue to back Springer and take him to go over 1.5 total bases. He’s averaging 2.4 bases per game over his last 10 starts.

For the final leg, I’ll take the youngster Trey Yesavage to go over 5.5 strikeouts. He had nine strikeouts in his first outing and threw some nasty swing-and-miss stuff. I expect his pitches to be dancing all over the plate again.
