Oilers vs Blues Odds, Picks, and Predictions Tonight: McDavid Quarterbacks Edmonton's Offense

Connor McDavid netted 64 goals last season, but it's the assist category where most of his damage is coming from now. With the Oilers' captain approaching 100 apples, our NHL picks expect McDavid to set up his teammates tonight.

Connor McDavid will look to continue his late-season push for the Art Ross Trophy when the Edmonton Oilers visit the St. Louis Blues as NHL odds favorites.

McDavid skates into the contest with multiple points in seven straight games and sits just two points back of Nikita Kucherov for the league lead.

Find out if Edmonton's superstar can pick up another multi-point outing and lead his club to a fourth straight win in my Oilers vs Blues NHL picks for Monday, April 1.

Oilers vs Blues predictions

Connor McDavid had yet another dominant performance on Saturday, this time putting up two goals, one assist, and seven shots on net in just under 16 minutes of ice time in a 6-1 win over the Ducks. The Edmonton Oilers captain enters Monday’s contest with 96 assists on the season and I’ll look for him to inch closer to the century mark with at least two more helpers tonight.

McDavid was in shoot-first mode against Anaheim with seven shots on target but had collected at least two assists in each of his previous five games, racking up a total of 13 helpers over that span. The center has recorded 18 multi-assist outings in his last 26 games, so he’ll have to have a rare off night to miss that mark.

If the St. Louis Blues keep to their regular rotation, we should see Jordan Binnington between the pipes. Binnington started March on fire but cooled off significantly by month’s end, allowing 13 goals over his last four starts and at least three tallies in three of those games while posting a pretty poor .901 SV% and 3.23 GAA over that span.

With a motivated McDavid looking to take over the lead in the Art Ross Trophy race and a new 50-goal scorer on his wing in Zach Hyman, I like the Oilers captain’s chances of picking up at least a couple assists.

My best bet: Connor McDavid Over 1.5 assists (+155 at SIA)

Oilers vs Blues same-game parlay

Zach Hyman anytime goalscorer

Oilers team total Over 3.5

Over 6.5

McDavid’s multi-assist prop isn’t available for my same-game parlay but that’s not a problem as I also like Hyman’s chances to find the back of the net. Riding shotgun with McDavid, Hyman has scored six times in his last six games and sits second only to Auston Matthews for the league lead in goals.

I’ll also look for the Oilers to score Over 3.5 goals and help the game total reach Over 6.5 goals. Edmonton has tallied at least four goals in three straight games and ranked fourth in the league in March with 3.87 gpg.

Oilers vs Blues moneyline and Over/Under analysis

  • The Oilers skate into tonight’s game as the road favorite, opening at -186 on the moneyline. Their edge had already increased by Sunday night, inching as high as -204 at some books.
  • Edmonton has been one of the best teams in the NHL over the last month and change, going 12-3-2 while outscoring their opponents by an average score of 3.82-2.29 over that span.
  • The total opened at 6.0 but about has jumped up to 6.5 at most books ahead of puck drop, with the Over being plus-money in most of those cases.
  • Edmonton has seen at least seven goals scored in five of its last six games, while four of St. Louis’ last six contests have featured seven or more tallies.
