First overall pick Cam Ward gets his first taste of the NFL regular season as he leads the Tennessee Titans into Week 1 against Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos.
While I do believe Ward will make some plays in his debut, my Titans vs. Broncos predictions will focus on one of the league’s best defenses containing the quarterback.

Titans vs Broncos prediction
Titans vs Broncos Best bet: Cam Ward Under 190.5 passing yards (-114)
Tennessee Titans rookie signal-caller Cam Ward has a tall task in the season opener as he heads to The Mile High City to face a Denver Broncos team that surprisingly made the playoffs in 2024. The Miami product has a big arm, and there’s a reason he went first overall. Ward is special, and he will likely have an impressive career.
However, Denver ranked seventh in the NFL last year in fewest total yards allowed. They also allowed only 32 touchdowns, which ranked second-lowest in the league behind only the Los Angeles Chargers. This secondary is elite, and Ward is still going to need time to get his feet under him and find chemistry with his wideouts.
The Broncos also have a phenomenal run defense, which means they will put more pressure on Ward. That will make it more difficult for the rookie to generate any big plays downfield.
Titans vs Broncos same-game parlay
After the Russell Wilson experiment failed, the Broncos desperately needed a QB to come in and make an immediate difference. Bo Nix did just that in ‘24 following an impressive collegiate career. The former Auburn and Oregon standout threw for 3,775 yards last season, including 29 touchdowns against 12 interceptions.
Nix cashed the Over in passing yards in his final three games of the regular season. Although the Titans do have some talent in their secondary, I’ll take Nix to feed off the home crowd and make some noise, which means including his top target, Courtland Sutton.
Sutton led Denver in ‘24 with 81 catches for 1,081 yards and a team-high eight touchdowns as well.
He’s already built impressive chemistry with Nix, and Sutton will be eager to get started on the right foot as he looks to post another 1,000-yard season and hopefully hit double digits in TDs, similar to his 2023 performance.
