The Jacksonville Jaguars will be looking for their fifth straight win when they host the New York Jets on Sunday afternoon.

Jacksonville is on fire right now, and I’m picking it to cover as a big favorite in my Jets vs. Jaguars predictions.

Jets vs Jaguars prediction

Jets vs Jaguars Best bet: Jaguars -13.5 (-106)

The Jacksonville Jaguars have played like one of the best teams in football over the last month. Jacksonville comes into this weekend on a four-game winning streak, having covered in each of those victories and blowing out most of its opponents.

While the Jaguars are playing well on both sides of the ball, it’s the offense that has shone most as the team has moved to the top of the AFC South standings. The Jaguars are averaging more than 30 points per game over the last six weeks. Trevor Lawrence seems to be coming into his own lately, throwing seven touchdown passes over the past three weeks while averaging over 8.0 yards per passing attempt in each of those games.

This creates two problems for the New York Jets. First, New York isn’t exactly shutting down opposing offenses right now, with six straight scoring 20+ points against it. The Jets are weaker than ever on offense as well, with Brady Cook throwing for a meager 163 yards and two interceptions in his first NFL appearance last week.

The Jaguars should be able to tear through the New York defense, and the Jets don’t have nearly enough offense to keep up. In fact, I don’t even think they’ll get close. I’m taking the Jags to cover.

Jets vs Jaguars same-game parlay

The Jaguars' offense has been humming lately, scoring at least 25 points in six straight games. Jacksonville should do most of the work in covering the Over, and I like Jakobi Meyers to catch a touchdown pass against a depleted Jets secondary after scoring in each of the past three games.

Since joining Covers in 2022, Ed has offered his sports betting analysis primarily on MLB, NFL, college football, and college basketball games, but is willing to take on any sport.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Outside of gambling, Ed is an avid curler who competes in mixed doubles on the World Curling Tour and runs a popular curling YouTube channel, Chess on Ice. That experience has come in handy during the Olympics, when he has proven to be a successful curling bettor as well.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
