Philly's offense has been stale for some time now, and Jalen Hurts' legs may be the key to getting his team out of this slump.

All eyes are on the left hand of Justin Herbert when the Los Angeles Chargers host the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football.

However, my Eagles vs. Chargers predictions look at Jalen Hurts’ feet in this Week 14 finale.

Here are my favorite NFL picks for this December 8 clash.

Eagles vs Chargers prediction

Eagles vs Chargers Best bet: Jalen Hurts Over 29.5 rushing yards (-110)

The Philadelphia Eagles pack their offensive struggles and head to La-La Land for this non-conference clash on Monday Night Football.

There’s no shortage of finger pointing after Philadelphia flopped for scores of 10, 15, 16, and 21 points over the past four games.

Offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo has been under fire, both literally and figuratively, with reporters peppering him with questions about his playcalling, and Philly fans egging his house after another anemic effort in a loss to the Chicago Bears.

One of the recurring questions coming up is why isn’t dual-threat QB Jalen Hurts running more? Hurts has rushed for 33 yards or less in eight straight outings and logged more than seven carries just once in that span.

This Eagles attack is at its best when Hurts is a threat to run, as we saw earlier in the schedule. He ran at least nine times in each of the first four games of 2025, averaging almost 45 rushing yards with Philadelphia scoring 27 points per contest in that stretch.

It seems all that pestering by the press is starting to sink in for Patullo and head coach Nick Sirianni, and we could see a return to form for Hurts and his role in the rushing attack in Week 14. Patullo had this to say.

As we go forward, Jalen Hurts is going to continue to be a part of the offense with some of these designed runs, and we just have to pick and choose when they’re available and when they present themselves.

Monday’s matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers offers an opportunity for Hurts to have a big day on the ground. Los Angeles has allowed plenty of yards to nimble quarterbacks this season, with the likes of Patrick Mahomes (57 yards), Bo Nix (33), Jaxson Dart (54), and Jayden Daniels (39) finding space to run.

The Bolts’ drum-tight passing defense could also force Hurts to tuck and run, as L.A. boasts one of the best downfield defenses, running zone-heavy schemes, and not allowing anything over the top.

Hurts will hear footsteps as he goes through progressions, eventually forced to take off without open looks.

Despite the downtick in carries, the Philly QB still ranks No. 2 among all signal callers in designed run calls and third in overall carries per game in 2025. However, his 3.5 designed runs are way down from past seasons (5.8 in 2024 and 5.7 in 2023 — both ranked No. 1).

If Patullo is dedicated to getting that involvement back up on MNF, Hurts should easily eclipse his rushing yards total, which sits south of 30 yards. Player projections for Week 14 range from 32 to 42.5 rushing yards.

Eagles vs Chargers MNF same-game parlay

If Justin Herbert does play with his busted non-throwing hand Monday, the Bolts offense will operate more out of shotgun and pistol sets, which throws a wrench into this RPO-heavy playbook. The Eagles' defense is still a force, and I like Philly to grind out a road win.

Kimani Vidal may lose some carries with the return of fellow RB Omarion Hampton, but he’ll get a shot at the end zone, as Hampton works his way back into shape.
