Betting Trend to Know

Against the Spread (ATS) Pick
The Cyclones are riding a three-game winning streak and are coming off perhaps their most impressive victory of the season, absolutely dominating Kansas State 45-0. Everything was working for Iowa State last Saturday, with quarterback Brock Purdy going 16-20 for 236 yards and three touchdowns and running back Breece Hall racking up 135 yards on 15 carries, while also scoring twice.
The Longhorns are also in the middle of a three-game winning streak and have had an extra week to prepare after their game against Kansas was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns. Quarterback Sam Ehlinger paces an offense that averages 40.4 points per game, while the Texas defense has shown improvement under new coordinator Chris Ash. Future NFL star Joseph Ossai is a player to watch, as the disruptive linebacker leads Texas with 48 tackles.
Iowa State has quietly tightened on the defensive side, allowing only 17.7 points per game in their last three, and while the Horns are squeaking by in their victories, the Cyclones appear to be playing their best football.
PREDICTION: Iowa State +2 (-110)
Over/Under Pick
This game features two pre-season Heisman Trophy dark horse candidates in Purdy and Ehlinger, but neither quarterback has met those expectations despite having successful seasons.
The Under is 15-5-1 in Iowa State’s last 22 road games, and I expect that trend to continue here.
PREDICTION: Under 58.5 (-110)
Team Total Pick
Texas has a Top-20 offense, but many of those impressive numbers came early in the season in high-scoring games against UTEP and Texas Tech. The Cyclones are quietly ranked 38th in the country in total defense, and that should keep the Longhorns below their team total in Austin.
If not, then Tom Herman may just end up saving his job after all.
PREDICTION: Texas team total Under 28.5 (-115)
