The Indiana Pacers will try to snap a three-game losing streak with a skeleton crew of players as they host the Brooklyn Nets, who are winless on the season.
My Nets vs. Pacers prediction and NBA picks like injury-riddled Indiana (-3.5) to cover at home vs. a bad Brooklyn team on Sunday, Nov. 1.
TOP PICK
Nets vs Pacers prediction: Pacers -3.5
As rough a shape as the Indiana Pacers seem to be in, they're still better off than the Brooklyn Nets. I'd stick with Indiana and give the points until 55%.
The Pacers will be without several injured players, led by Tyrese Haliburton. They do get back coach Rick Carlisle, who missed Friday's 20-point loss at Miami attending his father's funeral.
The Nets are also beaten up and will be missing rookie Mikel Brown Jr. and starting point guard Egor Demin.
While Indiana has lost three straight, Brooklyn is the last winless team in the East and coming off a season-worst 94-point output in a 16-point loss to Detroit. The loss of playmakers Brown and Demin will not help the offense improve.

Nets vs Pacers combo
Indiana and Brooklyn rank 24th and 25th in the league, respectively, in points allowed, and 23rd and 21st in defensive rating.
In addition to porous defenses, they both play at torrid paces. Brooklyn is seventh in the league in tempo. The Pacers are eighth. The two teams met a week ago in Brooklyn and combined for 245 points in a 27-point Indiana win.
The teams have both been slow starters this season. The Pacers are second in the NBA in second-half scoring so far this year, but Indiana averages just 56 points in the first half, four points below their second-half output. Brooklyn averages 53 before halftime, three points below their second-half output.
Nets vs Pacers combo
- Pacers -3.5
- Over 230.5
- First half under 117.5
Nets vs Pacers player props
Nets player prop: Nolan Traore Over 11.5 points
With their top two point guards out, the Nets will turn to Nolan Traore to run the offense.
He's seen his numbers and production jump in the last three games, increasing his scoring average by more than 10 points per game and also seeing his assists total jump. Traore hit 6 of 11 from the field for 17 points against the Pacers last week. He hit 2-of-3 from three-point range and dished out five assists.
Traore has boosted his shooting percentage by 50 points over last year and is averaging more points despite playing fewer minutes. His minutes have gone up lately, and he's scored 41 points in three games.
Pacers player prop: Pascal Siakam Over 24.5 points
The Pacers will be without Haliburton and Ivica Zubac, and possibly Obi Toppin (questionable) and Aaron Nesmith (day-to-day). That's a combined 58.4 points per game. The scoring has to come from somewhere, and Pascal Siakam is leading the team with 22.2 points a night.
He had a rough shooting game against Miami on Friday and will be looking to bounce back to normal against a weak Nets defense. He hit 3-of-6 from three and scored 21 against the Nets in last week's game.
