It's a relatively quiet Sunday slate for the NBA with just four games on tap, but there are some highly competitive contests for spread traders.

I'm looking for wins out of both L.A. teams tonight, while I have the favorites winning out east in my NBA against-the-spread picks. Read on to see all my free NBA picks for Sunday, Nov. 1.

Expert NBA ATS picks: Nov. 1

Celtics (-6.5) vs Magic: Celtics Celtics -6.5

The Boston Celtics come in riding a four-game winning streak and are scoring an Eastern Conference-best 120.8 ppg. They'll outscore an Orlando Magic team that ranks 23rd in the NBA in defensive efficiency.

Nets vs Pacers (-4.5): Pacers Pacers -4.5

The Brooklyn Nets are looking for their first win of the season, but they won't find it on the road tonight. Brooklyn is getting outscored by an average of 11 points a game, and the Indiana Pacers will ride Pascal Siakam and Andrew Nembhard to the win and a cover.

Clippers vs Warriors (-2.5): Clippers Clippers +2.5

The Golden State Warriors have looked good with Stephen Curry in the lineup, but he's sitting tonight. That opens the door for the Los Angeles Clippers, who have played well enough to beat a Warriors team that's also without Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler in this contest.

Team vs Team (-2.5): Lakers Lakers -2.5

Despite blowing a massive lead to the Warriors on Friday, the Los Angeles Lakers remain one of the most imposing offensive units in the NBA, ranking third in offensive rating (119.5) this season. The Lakers have beaten the Toronto Raptors in seven straight meetings and will have little trouble adding to that streak tonight.

Since joining Covers in 2022, Ed has offered his sports betting analysis primarily on MLB, NFL, college football, and college basketball games, but is willing to take on any sport.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Outside of gambling, Ed is an avid curler who competes in mixed doubles on the World Curling Tour and runs a popular curling YouTube channel, Chess on Ice. That experience has come in handy during the Olympics, when he has proven to be a successful curling bettor as well.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
