The Chicago Cubs look like the team to beat in the NL Central, and they bring a seven-game win streak into tonight’s clash with the Cincinnati Reds.

It took 10 innings for Chicago to escape with a 3-2 victory yesterday, sending Cincinnati to a fifth straight loss, and my Reds vs. Cubs predictions expect the hosts to walk away with another W here.

Who will win Reds vs Cubs today: Cubs moneyline (-161)

Behind a potent offense that ranks in the Top 5 in runs, hits and OPS, the Chicago Cubs enter as big favorites tonight — and there should be plenty of run support for starter Colin Rea. The hosts have won four of Rea’s last five starts, and they’re 16-5 overall at Wrigley Field this year.

That means tough sledding for the slumping Cincinnati Reds, who’ve lost six in a row on the road and turn to Brady Singer here.

Singer has posted a 5.57 ERA this year, and he could be under pressure early against a Chicago lineup that’s scored 5+ runs in six of its past eight contests.

Covers COVERS INTEL: The Reds are rock-bottom in the majors in hits and batting average, and they’ve already struck out 21 times in this series against Chicago.

Reds vs Cubs Over/Under pick: Over 8 (-113)

While Chicago’s offensive firepower is no secret, Cincinnati has quietly been a magnet for the Over too this year, despite the visitors’ uneven efforts at the plate. The Over is 7-3 in the Reds’ last 10 games, and seven of Chicago’s past 10 contests have served up 9+ runs.

So I don’t see a repeat of last night’s low-scoring scrap, particularly with the hosts averaging 5.36 RPG this year and Michael Busch heating up this month (.471 batting average).

The total breezed past this number in Rea’s past two starts, while Singer only lasted 3 1/3 innings against the Pittsburgh Pirates last Friday after giving up four runs on seven hits.
