The New York Mets enter tonight's contest in good shape offensively, carrying a 111 wRC+ over their last 12 games. They'll face MacKenzie Gore, who owns a 6.47 FIP over his previous two starts while allowing 6.75 BB/9.
Gore has also surrendered an alarming 14.3% barrel rate during that span. Sean Manaea, meanwhile, has posted a respectable 3.68 FIP over his last two outings without issuing a walk.
He'll face a Texas Rangers lineup that's been right around league average recently while showing minimal home run power.
At this price, the Mets have enough advantages to justify the underdog look.

I'm leaning to the Over here. Gore looks vulnerable enough to give up runs, and while Manaea has found some success lately, he is far from untouchable.
The bullpen profiles also point toward offense. Both relief corps have FIPs north of 3.00, so there should be scoring opportunities once the starters exit. Neither lineup is ice-cold at the plate, either, with New York in particular doing a better job of creating traffic and producing runs lately.
This total also gives us some room. At just 7.5, we don't need a complete slugfest to cash.
With multiple paths to runs on both sides, Over 7.5 is the better look.
Mets vs Rangers home run prediction: Josh Jung
Josh Jung stands out as a valuable HR pick this evening. He has slugged two bombs in his last six games with a solid .333 ISO.
Jung has a ridiculous 64.7% hard-hit rate and 23.5% barrel rate during that span, with 11 balls hit at 95 mph or harder. Additionally, he's put nearly 50% of his contact in the air recently, and Manaea has allowed 1.63 HR/9 on the road this season.
Jung is consistently producing the type of loud, elevated contact we're looking for in the home run market, making him worth a shot at this price.
