Our Guardians vs. Blue Jays predictions think Toronto's offense will keep it rolling in a favorable pitching matchup.

The Toronto Blue Jays bats have come alive recently, and in a plus matchup against a struggling Slade Cecconi, I’m anticipating the offensive surge to continue this afternoon.

Read on to see why in my Guardians vs. Blue Jays predictions and MLB picks for today’s game.

Guardians vs Blue Jays predictions

Guardians vs Blue Jays best bet: Blue Jays team total Over 4.5 (+110)

The Toronto Blue Jays bats are finally starting to come around. Toronto has gone Over today’s 4.5-run team total in four of their last six games, averaging 5.5 runs per game over that stretch.

The team has a combined .295 batting average, too, with 61 hits over the week. Toronto should be able to keep the bats hot against Cleveland Guardians starter, Slade Cecconi.

The Cleveland right-hander is 0-3 on the year with a 6.20 ERA, with a matching xERA in the 10th percentile and an opponent OPS of .820.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Slade Cecconi has allowed 5+ runs in three of his five starts this season, while averaging 3.8 runs allowed per outing.

Guardians vs Blue Jays same-game parlay (SGP)

We’ll continue to bet on some Blue Jays batters as part of the SGP. First, we’ll add Ernie Clement to go Over his total bases again. The infielder is on a nine-game hitting streak, where he’s gone Over his 1.5 bases seven times in this stretch.

I’ll also continue riding the Kazuma Okamoto train and take Over 0.5 hits this afternoon. After a slow start to the season, the Jays slugger has recorded at least one hit in five of his last seven games, batting .375 in that stretch. He also hits the four-seamer well, which is Cecconi’s most utilized pitch.

Guardians vs Blue Jays SGP

  • Jays team total Over 4.5
  • Ernie Clement Over 0.5 hits
  • Kazuma Okamoto Over 0.5 hits

Guardians vs Blue Jays home run pick: Daulton Varsho (+425)

Cecconi has surrendered five home runs in as many starts this season — three of which have come off his four-seam fastball, which has a 58.1% hard hit rate against it. Enter Daulton Varsho.

The Jays outfielder crushes the four-seamer off righties with a 69% hard-hit rate and .294 average against the pitch.

He’s likely to see a fair amount of fastballs, too, as Cecconi has a 42% usage rate of his four-seamer against left-handed batters.
