My analysis
Zack Wheeler is on the mound for the Philadelphia Phillies tonight, and he’s been stellar this season. The veteran right-hander hasn't allowed more than two earned runs in 14 of his 18 starts, including zero ER in five outings.
Wheeler is 9-4 with a 2.74 ERA and 0.99 WHIP overall on the season, but he’s been even better at home. The former All-Star is 6-2 with a 1.76 ERA (13 ER in 66.1 IP) and 0.87 WHIP at Citizens Bank Park.
On the flip side, the Los Angeles Dodgers are hoping for youngster Bobby Miller to get back on track. He’s allowed 10 ER in 13 1/3 innings since returning from the injured list. The 25-year-old fireballer has also struggled on the road (15 ER in 14 IP) as opposed to at home (2 ER in 11 IP), and some of that damage has been due to allowing four home runs in four starts on the road.
The Phillies are one of the best F5 ML teams in the league, boasting a 56-27-7 mark overall and a 33-10-4 record at home. Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper are also expected to be activated before tonight’s game, and there’s currently a heat wave affecting the city of Philadelphia.
The ball should be flying off the Phillies’ big bats while Wheeler keeps the Dodgers quiet through at least five.
