It's been "home sweet home" for Chris Bassitt at Rogers Centre this season, and our Blue Jays betting picks will bank on him silencing the A's bats on Friday night.

We have a busy betting slate in Major League Baseball tonight, including a matchup between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Athletics.

Chris Bassitt, who’s been dominant in the dome this season, starts for Toronto. My Blue Jays predictions believe he will put forth another quality performance against the A’s tonight.

Blue Jays predictions for May 30

Today’s Blue Jays best bet: Bassitt baffles A's

Chris Bassitt Under 2.0 earned runs allowed (-104 at BetVictor)

The Athletics have been mired in a massive slump, losing 14 of their last 15 games, including a 12-0 thumping at the hands of the Toronto Blue Jays in the first game of this series.

The pitching matchup doesn't get much easier for the A’s either, going from Jose Berrios to Chris Bassitt, especially at Rogers Centre.

Bassitt is 4-3 with a 3.38 ERA this season. However, he’s far more productive at home than on the road, sporting a perfect 3-0 record with a 1.61 ERA and 33 Ks in the dome.

He has held his opponents to one run or less in four of his five starts at home this season, and I expect him to be able to continue that trend against a floundering A’s squad.

Over this 15-game stretch, the A’s are hitting for a league median .244 average with just 3.66 runs scored per game, ranking 23rd in the majors.

Bassitt has a massive war chest of pitches at his disposal, which he uses to strike guys out. He’s averaging 6.6 Ks per home start. That matches up well against an A’s lineup that has a 23% strikeout rate over their last 15 games, the eighth-highest in all of baseball.

Moreover, this lineup has not had much success against Bassitt throughout their careers. The A’s batters have accumulated 40 at-bats against Bassitt and have yet to take him deep or hit him hard. The A’s lineup has driven in just two runs in those at-bats and has an OPS of .545 against him.

Another advantage for Bassitt against the A’s is his high ground-ball rate, with 46% of his outs being recorded that way due to his ability to limit hard contact. The Athletics rank sixth in the league in ground-ball outs this season, leading the MLB by hitting into 55 double plays.

In turn, I expect a vintage Bassitt outing where he pitches deep into the ball game and keeps it rather low-scoring for the opposition, allowing his Under of 2.0 runs allowed to hit for a sixth time this season in just seven Rogers Centre appearances.

Today’s Blue Jays same-game parlay (SGP)

Chris Bassitt Under 2.0 earned runs allowed

Chris Bassitt Over 4.5 strikeouts

Bo Bichette Over 1.5 total bases

For the first leg of our SGP, we will stick with the best bet and take Bassitt to go Under 2.0 earned runs tonight.

Next up for my same-game parlay, I’ll continue focusing on the Bassitt props and take him to go Over 4.5 strikeouts. He averages 6.6 Ks per home start and is pitching against a lineup with the eighth-highest strikeout rate in the last two weeks.

For the final leg of our SGP, I’ll bank on Bo Bichette’s suddenly-hot bat. He’s got homers in back-to-back games, flexing those power muscles again. I’ll take him to go Over 1.5 total bases tonight.

Bo is 5-for-12 in his career against Jeffrey Springs for a .417 AVG and an .833 SLG.
