My Wild vs. Canucks prediction backs Minnesota to cover the puck line and hand Vancouver its 10th straight loss as Quinn Hughes makes his highly anticipated return to Rogers Arena.
The teams meet for the first time this season on Sunday, Oct. 25, with puck drop set for 10 p.m. ET on Sportsnet and ESPN+. Here are my latest NHL picks for tonight's matchup.
Wild vs Canucks prediction: Wild -1.5
Vancouver enters on a nine-game losing streak, with six multi-goal losses in its last eight games and just one home win this season.
Minnesota, meanwhile, has just one regulation loss in its last five games. The Wild are 8-4 against the puck line this season and have won three of their last four meetings with the Canucks.
Vancouver ranks last in the NHL in goals and shots allowed and sits 31st on the penalty kill. This matchup is as lopsided as the numbers suggest.

Wild vs Canucks combo
This is a phenomenal matchup for a high-volume shooter like Matt Boldy.
Vancouver ranks last in shots allowed, and Boldy has fired 29 shots on goal on 53 attempts over his last five games. The 2019 first-rounder leads the NHL with 56 shots on goal and has recorded at least four shots in 60.9% of his games since Feb. 1, the highest rate in the league over that span.
Despite being Vancouver's top defenseman and ranking just outside the NHL's top 10 in average ice time, Hronek has just 11 shots through 12 games. He's recorded two or fewer in every game this season, a streak that stretches to 14 games dating back to 2025-26.
- Wild -1.5
- Matt Boldy Over 3.5 shots
- Filip Hronek Under 1.5 shots
TOP PICK
Wild vs Canucks player prop: Filip Hronek Under 1.5 shots
Hronek hasn't recorded more than two shots on goal in a game since April.
He has just 11 shots through 12 games and has gone three straight without one despite playing more than 24 minutes in each. He's been held to one or fewer in six straight and 10 of 12 games this season.
Minnesota ranks 10th in fewest shots allowed, and Hronek is mired in a 25-game goalless drought. This isn't an encouraging matchup for him to turn things around.
Wild vs Canucks goal scorer: Kirill Kaprizov
Kirill Kaprizov has scored in five of his last six games and eight of 12 this season.
The 29-year-old is tied with Leon Draisaitl for the NHL lead in goals, scoring at more than double the rate of anyone else in this matchup.
He's the only player to score in at least half his games since the start of last season, and tonight he faces a Canucks defense allowing the most goals in the NHL.
