Get your popcorn ready for what should be a classic Pacific Division shootout between the Vegas Golden Knights and Vancouver Canucks on Sunday.
These two West Coast teams have been scoring in heaps to begin the 2026-27 season, and my Golden Knights vs. Canucks predictions certainly expect that trend to continue.
Read my NHL picks below for Sunday, Oct. 4.
TOP PICK
Golden Knights vs Canucks prediction: Golden Knights -1.5
Don't let the Vancouver Canucks' offensive explosion through three games fool you. They're still an abysmal team on paper and allowed 14 goals in their two games against the Oilers.
The Vegas Golden Knights have won seven consecutive meetings dating back to December 2024, including a perfect 3-0 in 2025-26 for last season's Stanley Cup finalists.
The Knights have been favored in six of their last seven meetings and are understandably the heavy favorite tonight. I'll confidently back them in this early-season matchup.

Golden Knights vs Canucks combo
The Golden Knights have covered the spread in three of their last four, and in five of their last seven, against the Canucks. Vancouver has allowed 15 goals through three games.
Mark Stone has accumulated an astonishingly low shot volume in recent seasons and has just one shot on goal in two games this season.
Brock Boeser has three points in three games this season and has points at a higher rate than any other Canuck (including Elias Pettersson) since Jan. 1. The Minnesotan's 56.1% clip exceeds his 53% price at Novig, and he's hit the scoresheet in nine of his last 14.
Golden Knights vs Canucks combo
- Golden Knights -1.5
- Mark Stone Under 2.5 shots on goal
- Brock Boeser 1+ points
Golden Knights vs Canucks player prop: Mark Stone Under 2.5 shots on goal
Stone has recorded just one shot on goal through two games this season, and has only cleared three or more in 12 of his last 40 regular-season games (a 30% hit rate), and in four of his last 16.
The Knights' captain is averaging just 1.9 shots/game since Jan. 1 and hasn't put up more than 130 in a season since 2019-20, his first in Sin City.
Golden Knights vs Canucks goal scorer: Mark Stone
Though this may seem backward given his low shot volume, hear me out.
Stone has scored in six of his last 12 and has found the back of the net at a higher rate (40.2%) than any Knight or Canuck. He's scored on his lone shot in 2026-27, and 0.47 goals/game last season were a career-high despite the low shot volume.
The Winnipeg native is one of the game's best selective shooters and has an influx of talented playmakers alongside him.
