The Colorado Avalanche head on the road as a heavy 54% favorite tonight as they face the Winnipeg Jets, with puck drop scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET at the Canada Life Centre.
Colorado has been thriving, and my Avalanche vs Jets predictions expect them to give Winnipeg's Stuart Skinner trouble in net.

TOP PICK
Avalanche vs Jets prediction: Avalanche -1.5 (42%)
The Colorado Avalanche have been an offensive juggernaut early, scoring a franchise-record 14 goals through two games while allowing just 2.5. They've also averaged 5.0 goals per contest at five-on-five, highlighting their ability to produce the goods at even strength.
The Winnipeg Jets have played well, but Stuart Skinner is a clear downgrade in net from Connor Hellebuyck, and he now faces an Avs team firing on all cylinders from top to bottom. The Jets are also 30th in the league in SOG, and that spells trouble against a group like Colorado, which consistently puts away its opportunities.
The rest factor here is also real. The Avalanche last played on Saturday, while the Jets were in action Sunday and Monday. Colorado has fresher legs, and it also had the league's best road record last season, going 29-7-5.

Avalanche vs Jets combo
I'm combining an Avs win with the Under and a Martin Necas SOG prop tonight. This has historically been a low-scoring affair, with six straight regular-season meetings hitting the Under 6.5.
While the Avs are scoring at a ridiculous rate, it's only two games, and Winnipeg has kept its games controlled lately, with the last two finishing 3-2. Colorado is also playing elite defense in front of Mackenzie Blackwood, and I expect it to keep the Jets under wraps offensively.
Necas, meanwhile, is averaging four SOG through two appearances and, for what it's worth, had four shots on target in Colorado's final preseason game against the Jets. Skating on the top line with Nathan MacKinnon and Artturi Lehkonen, plus PP1, he's never short on chances. As I mentioned earlier, Winnipeg is struggling to limit shots as well.
Avalanche vs Jets combo (5.05x)
- Avalanche moneyline
- Under 6.5
- Martin Necas Over 2.5 SOG
Avalanche vs Jets player prop: Kyle Connor Over 3.5 SOG (44%)
Play up to 50%.
Kyle Connor has been a monster for the Jets so far. He's averaging a mind-boggling 6.6 SOG per game through three outings, comfortably cashing the Over in each appearance.
The Avs may be doing a respectable job of suppressing shots, but they're allowing the fourth-most SOG per contest to left wingers in the league so far.
Connor's underlying volume has been just as impressive. He leads Winnipeg with 32 individual shot attempts, 26 unblocked attempts, and 20 individual scoring chances through three games. With Connor firing the puck this frequently, 3.5 shots remains a very attainable number.
Avalanche vs Jets goal scorer: Artturi Lehkonen anytime goal (27%)
Play up to 32%.
Lehkonen leads Colorado with three goals in just two games, and the underlying numbers back up the hot start. He’s generated five individual high-danger chances through two appearances, the most on the Avalanche, while also recording six individual scoring chances.
Lehkonen has accumulated 0.73 individual expected goals despite playing just two games, showing he’s consistently getting into dangerous areas. Skating alongside MacKinnon and Necas gives him plenty of opportunities to finish plays for one of the league’s hottest offenses.
He'll make his presence felt tonight.
