The Seahawks hit the road as a massive 7.5-point favorite for Sunday afternoon's clash at Northwest Stadium, and my free NFL picks before the 1 p.m. ET kickoff (FOX) project the visitors to take full advantage of a banged-up Washington offense.
Seahawks vs Commanders prediction: Seahawks -7.5
The Seattle Seahawks’ 2-0 start has been eventful at times, but a stingy defense and some Jaxon Smith-Njigba magic continue to be a winning formula.
I’m banking on more of the same on Sunday against the Washington Commanders, regardless of whether it’s Sam Darnold or Drew Lock under center.
Seattle, 6-1 ATS in its last seven games, is primed to run riot on the other side of the ball, where its electric front seven can feast on backup QB Marcus Mariota and a Washington offensive line missing Laremy Tunsil and likely Sam Cosmi, too.
The Seahawks haven’t allowed a 100-yard rusher in any of their past 31 contests, and they held Jacoby Brissett to 95 passing yards last weekend.
Without Jayden Daniels’ elusive style, there’s nowhere to go for a Commanders squad that posted a 7-10 ATS mark in 2025.
COVERS INTEL: The Seahawks are the only team in the NFL yet to concede a play of 20+ yards this season, and Mike Macdonald’s defense is giving up just 3.8 yards per play (best in the league).

Look for Seattle’s smothering defense to lead the charge this weekend, cashing in on the soft center of Washington’s O-line and benefiting from more snaps for a healthier Nick Emmanwori.
Even with injuries in the visitors' secondary, a steady diet of Mariota scrambles certainly strengthens the case for the Under, as does the light rain that's forecasted.
Five of the Seahawks’ last six regular season games have fallen short of this 40.5 total, and it’s fair to expect a cautious start from Darnold if he gets the start at Northwest Stadium.
The Commanders have also held up well enough against the run this year to suggest they can at least slow down the visitors' ground game.
I'll round out this combo with a Mariota interception, as I expect him to be dealing with collapsing pockets all afternoon. He tossed seven picks last season while stepping in for Daniels, and the Seattle secondary has logged 1+ INT in six of its past seven outings.

Seahawks vs Commanders touchdown scorer: Emanuel Wilson
New Seattle offensive coordinator Brian Fleury showed his commitment to the ground game with 40 run plays in Week 2, and Emanuel Wilson received the bulk of the work (21 carries) with Jadarian Price sidelined (chest) and Zach Charbonnet on the PUP list.
Even if Price is back in the mix, this is nice value for Wilson to punch one in. He’s the power back of the available RBs, and he was trusted with seven red-zone carries against Arizona last weekend.

Seahawks vs Commanders player prop: Jaxon Smith-Njigba Over 88.5 yards
As long as Smith-Njigba is on the field, the Seattle quarterback questions really don't matter.
JSN is off to a flying start, boasting 277 receiving yards and four touchdowns through two games, and he cleared this O/U number in 13 of his 17 regular-season outings last season.
The reigning OPOY winner presents a massive mismatch against a Commanders secondary that’s leaked seven passing TDs already this season.
Oh, and CeeDee Lamb grabbed eight passes for 153 yards and two scores against Washington last weekend.
