Despite his greatness, Patrick Mahomes has been prone to his fair share of mistakes this season and our prop picks for Dolphins vs. Chiefs expect another mistake to come Sunday morning.

In an NFL odds upset, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs unexpectedly fell to the Denver Broncos last week, with the two-time MVP completing just 24 of 38 passes for 240 yards, adding zero touchdowns and throwing two picks in the process.

The lackluster offensive output led to Mahomes' first career loss to the Broncos, and now the Chiefs have the tall task of traveling across the pond for a Week 9 AFC showdown with the Miami Dolphins.

Can he turn things around in Frankfurt or will the Chiefs' struggles continue in front of international eyes?

Patrick Mahomes Week 9 prop pick

Over 0.5 interceptions (-105)

It has been no secret that Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs offense has not played up to expectation given their long-tenured stretch as one of the NFL's premier offenses.

The Chiefs' 23.4 points per game rank 12th in the NFL, which is already relatively pedestrian by their standards, but when removing out their 41-point blowout of the bottom-of-the-barrel Bears, their points per game drops to 20.9. That would be good for 20th.

Part of those struggles has been Mahomes' inability to take care of the ball, tallying eight interceptions and throwing to a 2.9% interception rate that would be sizably worse than his career-worst 2.1% — a mark he set in his first year as a full-time starter.

Yet, despite his repeated mishaps through the air, his interception prop continues to be priced at nearly even money. This comes despite the fact he's thrown an interception in six of this year's eight games.

And some may expect him to be more careful with the ball after throwing two picks last week, but Mahomes has actually thrown at least one pick in four of his last six games coming off a 2+ interception game.

Prop: Over 0.5 interceptions (-105 at BetMGM)

Patrick Mahomes Week 9 same-game parlay

Patrick Mahomes Over 0.5 interceptions (-110)

Patrick Mahomes Over 24.5 rushing yards (-115)

Isiah Pacheco Over 54.5 rushing yards (-115)

Another prop of Mahomes' that has continued to be priced seemingly incorrectly is his rushing yardage totals. This week, you can find totals as low as 22.5, a number he's exceeded in six of eight games this season.

As his subpar receiving group has continued to fail to separate at a reliable rate, Mahomes has continued to rely on his legs to the tune of 29.3 rushing yards per game and a median of 30.5.

Mahomes may not be the only one to find success on the ground on Sunday, as the Dolphins have been rather porous as a run defense. Their 112.3 rushing yards allowed per game ranks seventh-worst in the league.

Isiah Pacheco has served as a near-bellcow for the last month-plus, averaging 16 rushes per game in his last five games if we exclude the eight carries he tallied in last week's negative game script affair with the Broncos.
