All the hype surrounding Bryce Young was quickly put to rest following a stinker against the Jaguars, and things won't get any easier against the Arizona Cardinals.
Young was picked off twice in Week 1, and my Panthers vs. Cardinals predictions expect Arizona to have no trouble handling business this afternoon.

Panthers vs Cardinals Best bet: Cardinals -6.5 (-115)
If the Arizona Cardinals managed to cover this same spread in Week 1 with Kyler Murray battling an illness, they could really take off on Sunday against an overmatched Carolina Panthers roster.
Arizona is 7-3 ATS in its last 10 outings, and this spread could have been even higher due to the quality of the hosts’ ground game, which turned 27 carries into 146 rushing yards last weekend.
James Conner, Trey Benson, and Murray look like a formidable three-pronged attack that will only get better with Kyler at full health — and that’s a nightmare proposition for a Carolina run defense that was shredded for 200 rushing yards in Week 1.
The Panthers shot themselves in the foot against Jacksonville with sloppy drops that negated some of Bryce Young’s better moments, and they just don’t have enough reliable pass-catchers to threaten an Arizona defense that should be sharper in Week 2 as offseason additions settle in.
Though Carolina landed a 36-30 OT victory when these squads collided last December, the hosts look like a different animal in Year 3 under Jonathan Gannon, especially with Marvin Harrison Jr. off to a hot start.
The Cardinals went 4-1 ATS at home down the stretch last season, and they’ve covered the 2H spread in eight of their last nine games at State Farm Stadium.

Conner ceded some touches to Benson in Week 1, but he’s the main man for Arizona around the goal-line. The Cardinals should get into the red zone with ease, and Conner has piled up nine TDs in each of the past two seasons.
If anything is going to keep the Panthers in this contest, it’s their rushing attack. Chubba Hubbard ran for 57 yards in Week 1 despite the game script tilting towards the pass, and he racked up 152 yards and two TDs on the ground against the Cardinals last season.

Murray rushed for 38 yards in New Orleans and is always a threat to call his own number.
Back at 100% health, I expect Murray to breeze to the Over on this 28.5 O/U line, and the Panthers just aren’t equipped to handle Arizona’s mix of run options.

Even this early in the 2025 season, it feels safe to say that the Cardinals and Panthers are in different NFL tiers, and Arizona is deservedly a big favorite at home here.
Carolina was 2-6 on the road last year, and I’m not seeing any upset potential after the Panthers’ run defense rolled over in Week 1 against the Jaguars.

This feels like a mismatch after the Panthers limped to 10 points in their season opener, with Young struggling to get his team out of first gear.
Arizona was 6-3 ATS at State Farm Arena last year, and there’s no hesitation for me in laying the points when the spread is just under a touchdown.
Panthers vs Cardinals Over/Under prediction
The Arizona offense only scored 20 points in Week 1, but I’m expecting a bigger output against a Carolina defense that’s allowed 26+ points in seven of its past eight outings.
The Over is 6-3-1 in the past 10 meetings between these teams, and that seems like the safe play here, especially with the Cardinals boasting so many big-play weapons.
