The Miami Hurricanes are heavy favorites when they visit the SMU Mustangs in an important ACC Conference matchup for both teams.

Hurricane’s quarterback Carson Beck seems to have rebounded from a four-interception stinker against Louisville, and my Miami vs. SMU predictions expect Beck to sling a couple of scoring strikes against the Mustangs.

Read on for my college football picks for Saturday, November 1.

Miami vs SMU prediction

Miami vs SMU best bet: Carson Beck Over 1.5 touchdown passes (+106)

Miami Hurricanes quarterback Carson Beck has thrown two or more touchdown passes in four of seven games and has rebounded from a rough four-interception outing against Louisville.

The SMU Mustangs' front seven is stout against the run, and we should expect Hurricane’s offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson to lean on Beck’s arm, and Beck is one of the best in the country.

He’s averaging 8.24 yards per attempt behind one of the nation’s best pass-blocking units, giving him ample time to find a highly talented WR room led by CJ Daniels.

Beck faces a Mustangs defense that’s been shredded through the air, allowing 303.5 passing yards per game, 16 passing touchdowns, and nearly 13 yards per completion.

Miami vs SMU same-game parlay

SMU quarterback Kevin Jennings can also sling the football. He’s thrown for more than 250 passing yards in six of his previous eight games.

Hurricane’s running back Mark Fletcher has nine touchdown scampers this season, with at least one TD in five of his previous six games.

Both offenses can put plenty of points on the scoreboard in a hurry, so I’ll take a shot at the Over.
