Expect a defensive slugfest as championship jitters may take over in the Horizon League title game.

Indianapolis basketball fans are in for a treat when the Detroit Mercy Titans and Wright State Raiders square off in the Horizon League Championship game at Corteva Coliseum.

With both groups built to get defensive stops, my Detroit Mercy vs. Wright State predictions expect a low-scoring defensive battle tonight.

Read on for my college basketball picks for Tuesday, March 10.

Detroit Mercy vs Wright State prediction

Detroit Mercy vs Wright State best bet

Detroit Mercy vs Wright State best betUnder 151.5 (-116)

The Horizon League Championship game total looks a little too high to me, so I’m playing the Under.

The Detroit Mercy Titans are 2-8 to the Under in their last 10, and the Titans’ defense has been better than people think, ranking first in the conference in defensive effective field goal percentage and first in defensive three-point percentage.

The Wright State Raiders also rank in the top five in several conference defensive metrics and have a big edge on the glass at both ends. Look for some championship game nerves early and a lower-scoring battle than this number suggests.

Detroit Mercy vs Wright State same-game parlay

Orlando Lovejoy does it all for the Titans and has at least four assists in four of his previous five contests.

Detroit Mercy’s defense has allowed them to cover the spread in eight of its previous 10 games, including a SU road upset over Wright State as +10.5 underdogs.

While I believe Mercy has a chance at winning this game, I’ll take the points in what should be a defensive slugfest.
