Golden State looks to rebound at home against a young Memphis roster, with my top pick being the Warriors spread plus a three-leg combo built around Ty Jerome and Draymond Green.

My Grizzlies vs. Warriors predictions for tonight's matchup target Golden State -4.5, while seeing value on Ty Jerome and Draymond Green props.

Tip-off from Chase Center is at just after 10 p.m. ET. Don't miss our free NBA picks for Friday, Oct. 23.

 TOP PICK
Grizzlies vs Warriors prediction: Warriors -4.5

The Golden State Warriors -4.5 is playable up to -6.5.

Golden State was projected to win eight more games than the Memphis Grizzlies preseason. For context, the Los Angeles Lakers, who were expected to win seven more games than the Warriors, closed as 6.5-point favorites in their 127-105 win over Golden State Wednesday.

Sure, that was an ugly loss. But Luka Doncic is a top-five NBA MVP candidate with a chip on his shoulder, and L.A. is a notoriously tough place to play. Meanwhile, the Warriors will always live and die by the 3-pointer as long as they have Steph Curry, and teams shoot better at home.

I also trust the NBA’s third-oldest roster to lean on its continuity against the league’s youngest team and create separation.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Last season, the Warriors scored 5.0 more points per game at home. Their effective field goal rate, which accounts for 2- and 3-point shooting, was 3% higher.

Grizzlies vs Warriors combo

Golden State can control this game without shutting down every Memphis shooter.

If the Warriors get comfortable offensively, Draymond Green should be right in the middle of it, moving the ball and creating clean looks, while Golden State gradually builds separation. That same script could force Memphis to lean harder on the 3-pointer, which gives Ty Jerome plenty of chances to fire away while playing catch-up.

So I’m not asking these legs to fight each other. I want the Warriors dictating the game, Draymond pulling the strings, and Jerome getting loose from deep once Memphis starts chasing points.

Grizzlies vs Warriors combo

  • Warriors -4.5
  • Ty Jerome 3+ made threes
  • Draymond Green 6+ assists

Grizzlies vs Warriors player props

Grizzlies player prop: Ty Jerome 3+ made threes

As long as Jerome's 3+ made threes prop stays below 58%, I'm in.

Jerome has always been a high-volume 3-point shooter, posting a 46.8% career 3-point attempt rate compared with a 40.1% league average this season. He also went 5-for-10 from deep against Utah Wednesday and made 3+ threes in eight of 15 games last season.

Given Memphis' roster, Jerome should have plenty of offensive responsibility this year.

Grizzlies rookie forward Cameron Boozer and 7-foot-3 center Zach Edey should command attention inside against Golden State's undersized frontcourt, creating opportunities for Jerome to spot up when the defense collapses.

Warriors player prop: Draymond Green 6+ assists

Draymond Green 6+ assists is playable up to 60% because he's still Golden State's point-center.

I expect Green to get plenty of touches at the top of the key in this matchup, partly because that can pull Edey away from the paint and open driving lanes.

And obviously, the Curry-Draymond two-man game remains one of the NBA's most dangerous actions. How many times have we watched Curry bury a 3-pointer off a Green dribble handoff?

Green had eight assists against the Lakers Wednesday, and last season, he recorded 6+ assists in 29 of 41 games when playing at least 27 minutes, which was roughly his per-game average.

These young Grizzlies aren't ready for that smoke.
