Tarik Skubal.
That’s what the Detroit Tigers have going for them in today's game against the Atlanta Braves.
Skubal is good, but the price is just too high considering the opponent. That’s why my Tigers vs. Braves predictions and MLB picks call for an Atlanta win at home on Wednesday, April 29.
Who will win Tigers vs Braves today: Braves moneyline (+122)
The Atlanta Braves have baseball’s best record and run differential.
They’ve scored the most runs, tallying five or more in six straight, while winning 11 of their last 13 games.
Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal is good (duh), but Atlanta as a home underdog is an absolute gift.
The Tigers are 5-13 in road games this season. Their bullpen has been struggling and had a heavy workload in Tuesday’s series opener when starter Casey Mize left in the third.
Detroit also lost infielder Javier Baez to injury, and their hottest five hitters combined to go 1-for-15 against Braves pitching.

Tigers vs Braves Over/Under pick: Under 8.5 (-115)
Not sure how this price can be justified.
If Skubal’s presence is enough to make a .500 team a prohibitive moneyline favorite over baseball’s best, the Under should also be extremely expensive. We’ll take the bargain without a second thought, though.
Braves’ starter JR Ritchie adds some variability.
The righty was the Braves’ top minor league prospect and is making just his second career MLB start. While he allowed a pair of home runs in his debut, he was rarely victimized by the long ball throughout his minor-league tenure.
His peripherals are good, and he’ll give the Braves offense a chance to hang in, even against Skubal.
