Kazuma Okamoto has had himself a hell of a series in Minnesota, and we expect that to continue against Joe Ryan.

The Minnesota Twins haven’t been able to slow down Kazuma Okamoto at the plate in this series, and I’m expecting another productive day from the Toronto Blue Jays' third baseman.

Find out why in my Blue Jays vs. Twins predictions and MLB picks for Sunday, May 3.

Blue Jays vs Twins predictions

Blue Jays vs Twins best bet: Kazuma Okamoto Over 1.5 total bases (+130)

Kazuma Okamoto is swinging a hot bat in the series with four hits — three of which have left the ballpark.

He’s really starting to turn it around this season, sporting a .265 average over his last 10 games, belting five home runs in that stretch, while averaging 2.6 bases per game

Okamoto should see a healthy dose of four-seam fastballs today as it’s Joe Ryan’s most utilized pitch.

The Toronto Blue Jays slugger has had a lot of success against the four-seamer this year, sporting a .320 average with a .600 slug rate against the pitch.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Okamoto has a 52.6% hard-hit rate, which ranks him in the 92nd percentile in baseball.

Blue Jays vs Twins same-game parlay (SGP)

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is third in all of baseball with 40 hits on the season, with 31 of them being singles. He also has four career hits against Joe Ryan — all singles. I’ll bank on that trend continuing tonight.

I’ve loved what I’ve seen from rookie outfielder Yohendrick Pinango since his call-up. He had a three-hit game yesterday and has five hits in his 10 major-league at-bats so far.

With Springer likely out today, he should get another spot start in the outfield.

Blue Jays vs Twins SGP

  • Kazuma Okamoto Over 1.5 total bases
  • Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 0.5 singles
  • Yohendrick Pinango Over 0.5 hits

Blue Jays vs Twins home run pick: Kazuma Okamoto (+425)

With another fastball thrower on the mound today, I’m inclined to keep riding the Okamoto train from my official home run pick today.

He already has three home runs in this series, and owns a .600 slug rate against the four-seamer, with five of his team-leading eight home runs coming off the fastball.

Ryan doesn’t give up a lot of home runs, but he's prone to giving up hard contact, ranking in the 56th percentile in opponent hard-hit rate.

Okamoto ranks in the 92nd percentile in hard-hit rate this season. So if he does get a hold of one over the plate, he could take it for a ride into the seats.
