The Los Angeles Angels visit the Baltimore Orioles tonight for the beginning of a three-game set at Camden Yards.

While Charlie Morton has struggled this season, my Angels vs. Orioles predictions will explain why I’m expecting him to have a respectable outing here.

Angels vs Orioles prediction

My Angels vs Orioles best bet: Charlie Morton Under 2.5 earned runs allowed (-120 at bet365)

The Baltimore Orioles signed Charlie Morton to a one-year deal in the offseason with the hope he’d bring over his brilliance from the Atlanta Braves, but it’s been a poor campaign for the veteran right-hander.

He was briefly demoted to the bullpen because of his inconsistencies, and Morton owns a 6.57 ERA and 2-7 record so far.

That being said, he’s now back in the rotation and is pitching better. Morton has allowed two or fewer earned runs in five of his last six outings.

Last week, he allowed four earned runs to the Athletics, but before that, he was keeping his team in ball games. During that span, the righty also tossed a couple of scoreless frames against the Los Angeles Angels

He’s faced a lot of hitters in this L.A. lineup, too. Across 85 at-bats, they’re hitting just .188, and he’s racked up 25 strikeouts.

Although his ERA still sits at 5.80 at home, Morton is heading in the right direction. He’ll put together a solid outing in the series opener.

Angels vs Orioles same-game parlay (SGP)

Charlie Morton Under 2.5 earned runs allowed

Jackson Holliday 1+ hits

Jack Kochanowicz Over 2.5 earned runs allowed

While the Orioles have been miserable offensively, Jackson Holliday is certainly a bright spot.

The youngster is batting .265 with eight home runs and 27 RBIs, and he’s red-hot lately. Holliday has two multi-hit games in his last three games, and he’s collected at least one hit in four of his last six appearances.

He’s swinging it substantially better at home, hitting .315 compared to .222 on the road.

As for Jack Kochanowicz, he’s not exactly putting up banner numbers. The 24-year-old has compiled a 3-7 record and 5.61 ERA in 13 starts, with opponents hitting .297. He’s also allowed 11 home runs already.

Kochanowicz has surrendered Over 2.5 earned runs in four consecutive starts, giving up four earned in each outing.
