Play up to -120. Jonah Tong continues to generate plenty of swings and misses, posting 9.28 K/9 across his last two appearances while clearing this number in three straight starts. Washington isn't an extreme strikeout matchup, but Tong only needs five punchouts, making this a manageable number at close to even money.
Riley Greene is mashing right now with a .333 average, .617 SLG, and five homers in September.
The Tigers outfielder sits in the 95th percentile in xSLG and 96th percentile in barrel % this season – a testament to his power and ability to square up the baseball.
Teoscar Hernandez posted a .400 average with a .325 ISO and 26.5% barrel rate vs. lefties over the last 30 games. Those numbers put him in the elite of the elite.
Matt Wilkinson throws fastballs nearly 60% of the time facing righties. That plays directly into the hands of Hernandez, who is sporting a .450 ISO and nearly 65% hard hit rate vs. fastballs the past 30.
I like the Under to 55%.
The San Francisco Giants rank 24th in hard hit percentage, 26th in xSLG, and have struck out nearly 25% of the time against southpaws in September.
While the Los Angeles Dodgers still want to stay sharp, this game doesn’t carry any weight. The conditions are also favorable to pitchers at Oracle Park.
I project a 5-1 type of game, which would check both boxes.
Vinnie Pasquantino is hammering Tanner Bibee’s pitch mix, hitting .303 with a .242 ISO and 53.6% hard hit rate over the last 25 games when facing right-handed fastballs, cutters, and changeups.
Those are Bibee’s most used pitches, and account for well over 70% of what he throws to lefties.
Pasquantino has a shockingly good track record against Bibee. He is 11-18 with 10 hard hit balls and five extra base hits, two of which went the distance.
The Under is playable to 55%.
Tanner Bibee has pitched well against Kansas City this season, posting a 3.48 xERA – nearly a full run below his season output of 4.46.
Michael Wacha is an innings eater who held the Guardians to three runs over 23 innings this season. He’ll likely pitch deep into this one, giving the Guardians less time to produce against the Royals’ underwhelming bullpen.
Vargas has been Chicago's hottest power hitter, with an OPS+ nearly two and a half times league average over the past week. He also has hit lefthanders better than righties and should have a chance to take Quintana out.
Colorado starter Jose Quintana has battled elbow trouble and has one of the slowest fastballs in MLB. Chicago has been scoring runs and Colorado allowing them lately. The Rockies also match up well with Sox starter Davis Martin.
Play up to 16%. Ivan Herrera has shown serious pop lately, homering three times in his last six games while carrying a .417 ISO. His 23.1% barrel rate and 46.2% fly-ball rate add to the appeal against Dustin May, who has allowed 1.96 HR/9 across his last five outings.
Play up to 20%. Nolan Arenado is locked in at the plate, going deep four times over his last six games while posting a .520 ISO. Walker Buehler has allowed 2.28 HR/9 over the last month, and Arenado has already taken him deep twice in his career.
Arizona has rattled off five straight wins to stay alive in the wild-card race and gives the ball to Corbin Burnes in a must-win game. San Diego has already punched their postseason ticket, while the Diamondbacks offense has caught fire over the last fortnight (128 wRC+, .500 SLG, 3.49 bullpen SIERA). Getting Burnes backed by high urgency against Walker Buehler provides the premier late-game value on the board.
Play up to 20%. Randy Arozarena’s recent contact profile points to more power, with a 57.1% hard-hit rate and 14.3% barrel rate over the last week. Ryan Johnson has allowed 1.79 HR/9 on the road, while the Angels’ bullpen has also been vulnerable to the long ball.
Our experts and prediction models are hard at work analyzing the data. Check back shortly for today's picks, or explore our Computer Picks for inspiration.
MLB picks are bet suggestions based on our computer's assessment of the game. Tons of betting data goes into a computer pick, including pitching matchups, injury reports, analytics, and even recent betting trends.
You can use the tables above to help with your bets during the MLB season. The first section includes free, computer-generated picks for daily Major League Baseball games. Baseball bettors can choose to follow the computer, fade the computer, or simply use our computer picks as one element of their betting strategy.
This page also tees up access to deeper betting trends. For example, if a club's run line is favored, you can check their ATS trends, potentially opening up some quality underdog bets.

This is the most common and easiest wager for a bettor to make when it comes to MLB picks. Basically, to win an MLB moneyline pick, you just have to choose which team will win the game.
It's simple: if you bet the White Sox moneyline over the Red Sox and Chicago wins, you win your bet.
The run line is another name for a point spread that you may be more familiar with in NBA and NFL betting. A point spread varies in the NFL and NBA from as little as 0.5 points up to double-digit spreads. A baseball run line is almost always a 1.5-point spread.
The favorite will be -1.5 while the underdog will be +1.5. At the end of the game, if you take away 1.5 runs from the favorite or add 1.5 runs to the underdog and they end up winning the game, you win your MLB pick against the spread.
Another common wager is to bet on the total in baseball, which is a bet on the total runs scored in the baseball game. You are simply choosing whether the final score will be Over or Under that total. Betting the Over/Under on a matchup is a great way to get started in MLB score predictions.
A new and emerging MLB betting market is the NRFI/YRFI bet. These are quick-hitters in which you make a wager on the O/U total of the first inning, typically set at 0.5 runs. Thus, the bet is coined as No Run First Inning or Yes Run First Inning. No need to wait a couple of hours to cash a bet when it could be done in 20 minutes or less.
The above options, moneyline, run line, and Over/Under, can also be placed on the first five innings of a game rather than the full game. Many experienced bettors will use this approach because, typically, this will take bullpens out of the equation and make your job researching the game easier. After all, you can just focus on the starting pitchers.
If you want to combine multiple games into one mega wager, you may consider making a parlay bet. A parlay is when you pick two or more MLB games on one single betting ticket, which will increase the payout of your bet.
But it also comes with more risk, as each of those MLB picks must hit for your ticket to pay out. Our parlay calculator is a great tool to find out what your potential payout would be.

Player props are a great way to hone in on an individual matchup for a game. These types of wagers will be individualized for a player: Will Shohei Ohtani hit a home run? Will Gerrit Cole get seven strikeouts? Will Paul Skenes allow two earned runs?
You simply choose whether this outcome will happen or not. Keeping up to date on daily pitching matchups and batters on a hot streak can give you a huge boost when placing player prop bets.
Lastly, prior to the season and even throughout the season, you can place futures bets on all the long-term awards and outcomes. You can lock in an MLB pick on who will win their division, which squad will win the World Series, or even who will win the Rookie of the Year, MVP, or Cy Young.
