The Ottawa Senators continue their road trip with a matchup against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Amalie Arena on Monday night. The Senators are road underdogs on the NHL odds board with both squads coming off losses on Saturday.
Ottawa has lost two straight games following its four-game winning streak, and those losses came against two of the worst teams in the league in the Ducks and Blackhawks. The Senators outshot those teams by a combined 56-42 but got outscored 8-3.
Tampa Bay saw its three-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday as the Panthers came into town and took it to the Bolts in a 9-2 final.

The Tampa Bay Lightning opened the scoring just 24 seconds into Saturday afternoon’s game against the Panthers, but it was all Florida from there as the Cats pounced on the Bolts for a 9-2 win.
It was a humbling loss for the Lightning against the reigning Eastern Conference champions.
"For 26 seconds it was a heck of a game for the home fans. After that the better team clearly won tonight," Tampa Bay coach Jon Cooper said. "They outskated us, they won the puck battles, they won the special teams war. If there's a TV timeout war, they probably won that too."
Fortunately for the Lightning, they have a prime opportunity to bounce back as slight favorites against the struggling Ottawa Senators tonight.
Ottawa is coming off a 3-2 loss in Chicago, which was the second straight loss as big favorites for the Senators. They lost 5-1 to the Ducks at home as -214 favorites and then as -194 favorites in Chicago.
The road doesn’t get any easier for the Senators. After tonight's game in Tampa Bay, they head south to visit the Panthers on Tuesday night.
The Sens are just 7-14-0 away from home and face a Lightning team that is hungry for a win. Furthermore, the Bolts are a much better team at home (18-6-3) than they are on the road (12-15-2).
Tonight’s game will be the third meeting between these teams this season, but the first in Tampa Bay. Ottawa won 5-2 in October before the Lightning got revenge a few weeks later by a 6-4 final score.

Not only are these two teams scoring against each other, but the Lightning have scored four or more goals in five of their last six wins and six goals in four of them.
Nikita Kucherov is always a solid bet to score. He’s up to 94 points (36 goals) in 55 games this season. The Russian winger has a goal in five of his last nine contests with a total of eight goals in that span.
