The Utah Utes come in as a two-touchdown favorite when they host the Arkansas Razorbacks in Salt Lake City on Saturday night.
The Utes have too much offensive firepower for the Razorbacks, and I'm taking them to cover in my Arkansas vs. Utah prediction and college football picks for Sept. 12.

Who will win Arkansas vs Utah: Utah -13.5
The Utah Utes compiled 633 yards of offense in a 66-14 win over the Idaho Vandals in Week 1, continuing the success of an offense that averaged 39.5 ppg against FBS competition last season. The Utes were dominant in the air and on the ground last season, and were effective in both modes last weekend as well, running for 364 yards and passing for 269.
Meanwhile, the Arkansas Razorbacks were unimpressive against a North Alabama team they expected to dominate, winning 31-14. That offensive output won't keep the Razorbacks in a shootout against Utah on Saturday, and their defensive numbers — Arkansas allowed only 153 total yards — mean virtually nothing given the level of competition.
I'm taking Utah to cover in this game as long as the spread stays under two touchdowns.
COVERS INTEL: Arkansas had one of the worst passing defenses in the nation last year, allowing 0.33 EPA per dropback, which ranked 131st among FBS schools.
Arkansas vs Utah Over/Under pick: Over 55.5
I do not doubt that a Utah team that averaged 480 yards per game on offense last season will put up points against the Razorbacks in Week 2.
The Razorbacks are also likely to find success on the ground against a Utah team that allowed 5.79 yards per rush last season, and junior quarterback KJ Jackson is coming off airing it out for three scores against North Alabama.
I see Arkansas adding enough offense to back the Over at 56.5 points or less.
Arkansas vs Utah prop: Utah 4+ total touchdowns
Utah annihilated the Idaho defense last weekend, scoring nine touchdowns against the Vandals.
While things won't be quite that easy against Arkansas, the Razorbacks allowed 31+ points in nine of their last 10 games last season, so they've had a hard time keeping opponents from hitting the end zone four times in a game.
Similarly, the Utes were held Under 31 points only twice last year. I like Utah to score 4+ TDs at a price of up to 70 cents.
Arkansas vs Utah combo
Based on the massive gulf in offensive talent in this game, I don't think Utah will be held to within two touchdowns at home. The Utes' offense should make its presence known early and often, just as they did against Idaho.
That expectation has me backing the Utes to cover a first-half spread of 6.5 points, on their way to easily covering the full game spread as well.
