The best week 1 anytime TD bets

Philadelphia Eagles Dallas Goedert - TE  29%

  • The Market Illusion: “Philadelphia’s rushing identity and Jalen Hurts’ goal-line work leave too little touchdown volume for a tight end priced at only +230.”
  • The Structural Reality: Goedert received 15 red-zone targets in 2025, catching 13 for 10 touchdowns. More importantly, he converted eight of nine targets inside the 10 into touchdowns.
That is an exceptionally concentrated scoring role rather than incidental production - making this our the best of the anytime TD scorer predictions for week 1.
Washington allowed touchdowns on approximately 64% of opposing red-zone trips last season. Philadelphia’s current 44.5 total and favorite status imply roughly 24.5–25 points. The price requires a 30.3% scoring probability, which is attractive even after applying substantial regression to last season’s remarkable conversion rate.
Dallas Goedert is also one of Covers NFL Analyst, Josh Inglis's favorite NFL Anytime Touchdown Picks for Week 1

Cincinnati Bengals Tee Higgins - WR 41%

  • The Market Illusion: “Cincinnati’s slate-high scoring environment makes Higgins’ touchdown production almost automatic.”
  • The Structural Reality: Higgins scored 11 times in 2025, but his underlying red-zone volume was less dominant than the touchdown total suggests: 14 targets inside the 20 and seven inside the 10 produced four and three touchdowns.
Cincinnati is favored by 3.5 in a 50.5-point game, giving it an implied total of 27, the best passing environment represented here. The market has responded by pricing Higgins at a 44.4% break-even probability. His bruised heel adds another small downgrade, although he returned to practice and is expected to play. The combination remains viable, but the available price offers less margin than Goedert or Ferguson.

Philadelphia Eagles Hollywood Brown - WR  9%

  • The Market Illusion: “Brown is a second-string receiver in a run-oriented offense and can’t be relied on to score every week.”
  • The Structural Reality: Brown’s 2025 role with the Kansas City Chiefs was modest in overall volume but highly concentrated near the goal line: nine red-zone targets generated five touchdowns, while eight targets inside the 10 produced four.
The move to Philadelphia introduces genuine uncertainty: the Eagles list him behind DeVonta Smith, and his prior-season usage cannot simply be transferred to a new offense. Nevertheless, +700 requires only a 12.5% scoring probability. Washington’s poor 2025 red-zone defense and Philadelphia’s roughly 25-point implied total provide enough environmental support for that price to retain upside.
This anytime TD scorer prediction is a price-driven value play, not a role-driven certainty.

Dallas Cowboys Jake Ferguson - TE  24%

  • The Market Illusion: “CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens account for too much of Dallas’ passing equity for Ferguson to offer value.”
  • The Structural Reality: Ferguson’s 23 red-zone targets were the strongest volume signal among the listed Dallas receivers. He caught 14 for seven touchdowns, including six scores on 13 targets inside the 10.
Dallas still lists him as its starting tight end, and the Cowboys carry an implied total of approximately 25.5 points.
The Giants allowed touchdowns on roughly 66% of opponent red-zone possessions in 2025, making this the best OvD matchup in the pool. At +245, the market asks Ferguson to score 29.0% of the time. His combination of route stability, short-area usage and opponent weakness supports a materially higher value assessment.

New York Giants Devin Singletary - RB  8%

  • The Market Illusion: “Singletary’s previous goal-line work and triple-digit price create inexpensive exposure to a favorable scoring matchup.”
  • The Structural Reality: Singletary handled 22 red-zone carries in 2025, including 17 inside the 10 and nine inside the five, producing four touchdowns.
That historical usage now sits behind a dramatically less certain 2026 role.
The Giants retained Cam Skattebo and Tyrone Tracy while adding Najee Harris, carrying four running backs on the opening day roster. Public projections place Singletary well behind Skattebo in expected volume. Dallas’ defensive matchup and the 9.1% implied probability keep the prop from scoring worse, but Singletary may need either an injury or an unpredictable rotation to receive the necessary opportunity.

Buffalo Bills Josh Allen - QB  40%

  • The Market Illusion: “James Cook’s rushing success has reduced Allen’s need to function as Buffalo’s goal-line back.”
  • The Structural Reality: Allen recorded 31 red-zone carries in 2025, scoring 13 times. All 13 came from his 22 attempts inside the 10, including nine touchdowns on 13 carries inside the five. That is one of the strongest touchdown-specific roles in football regardless of position.
The negative side is environmental: Buffalo’s implied total is only about 23 points, and Houston allowed touchdowns on approximately 55.8% of red-zone trips while finishing with an elite scoring defense.
At +125, Allen must score 44.4% of the time. His role makes that plausible, but the opponent and price leave the prop closer to fair than the raw touchdown count implies.

Dallas Cowboys George Pickens - WR  35%

  • The Market Illusion: ”Pickens’ 1,429-yard 2025 season and the Giants matchup make almost any plus price worthwhile.”
  • The Structural Reality: Pickens saw 21 red-zone targets and 10 targets inside the 10, but those opportunities produced only four and three touchdowns respectively. His nine total receiving touchdowns show that he also possesses a viable distance-scoring path, and Dallas lists him as a starting outside receiver opposite Lamb.
The Giants matchup and 25.5-point team total are excellent.
The concern is valuation: +145 implies a 40.8% scoring probability, a demanding threshold in an offense that also features CeeDee Lamb, Ferguson and a productive rushing game behind Javonte Williams.
Pickens can show up at any time, making this a viable anytime TD scorer prediction, but Jake Ferguson could own the superior intersection of price and touchdown-specific usage.

Detroit Lions Jahmyr Gibbs - RB  68%

  • The Market Illusion: “With David Montgomery gone and Detroit projected for approximately 28 points, Gibbs is close to touchdown certainty.”
  • The Structural Reality: Gibbs brings the strongest raw opportunity profile in the pool.
He logged 51 red-zone carries for nine touchdowns and added four receiving touchdowns on 12 red-zone targets.
Detroit now lists Sione Vaki and Jacob Saylors behind him, giving Gibbs substantially more role security following Montgomery’s departure.
The issue is entirely the market price: -330 implies a 76.7% probability, meaning Gibbs must score in more than three of four comparable games. New Orleans also allowed a respectable 53.2% red-zone touchdown rate in 2025. Gibbs is the likeliest scorer here in the week 1 index, but that is different from being the best value.

How we decide which week 1 NFL anytime TDs to pick

Behind the Covers Anytime Touchdown Value Index is a screening matrix built on cold, structural math to help make the best anytime TD scorer predictions every week.

We don't care about media hype. We don't care who went viral on Sunday.

Our system runs a multi-layered data ingest, cross-referencing live play-by-play mechanics against odds from the sharpest sportsbooks in the world. We look at dozens of hyper-specific metrics, including:

Player red-zone touches, inside the opponent’s 20-yard line Weekly point spread
Player goal-to-go touches, approximated as touches inside the 5-yard line Implied team total, derived from the total and spread
Player share of the team’s red-zone touches Best available anytime-touchdown price
Player share of the team’s goal-to-go touches Number of sportsbooks offering that price
Player red-zone touchdowns Implied probability
Player red-zone touchdown rate per red-zone touch Median market implied probability when multiple books are supplied
Team red-zone trips Number of completed games played by the player’s team
Team offensive red-zone touchdown percentage Prior-season weighting, used while the current-season sample develops
Opponent red-zone trips faced Current injuries, availability, workload changes, and role stability
Opponent red-zone touchdown percentage allowed Player position, team, opponent, and scheduled matchup
Weekly game total

This isn't a black box running on mystery algorithms. It is a highly calibrated heuristic engine. We map our proprietary scoring against the market’s implied probability to isolate the exact friction points where pricing lags behind actual on-field volume. It is a premium, data-driven edge built to find the value before the market wakes up.

The lines are already moving. The public is currently throwing money at stale narratives. Trust the math and exploit the structural friction to secure your closing line value before kickoff.

Odds are correct at the time of publishing and are subject to change.
