Leon Draisaitl & Co. will prove to be a handful for the vulnerable Sharks.

The surging Edmonton Oilers head into tonight's game against the San Jose Sharks as a 60% moneyline favorite, with puck drop from SAP Center scheduled for 4 p.m. ET.

Edmonton is flourishing offensively, and my Oilers vs. Sharks predictions expect them to cause trouble for San Jose.

Read more in my NHL picks for Saturday, Oct. 10.

 TOP PICK
Oilers vs Sharks prediction: Oilers moneyline

Play up to 63%.

The Edmonton Oilers have won three straight after dropping their opener, and they rank second in the NHL in scoring at 5.5 goals per game. That offensive firepower should cause problems for a San Jose Sharks team sitting 22nd in goals allowed, while netminder Yaroslav Askarov has struggled.

Askarov owns an .862 save percentage and 3.87 GAA. San Jose has also been without superstar Macklin Celebrini, who is a game-time decision Saturday. That's a major blow to the Sharks' attack after he tallied five assists in just two games before his injury.

Edmonton also enters with the rest advantage, and for what it's worth, the Oilers have won nine of the last 10 meetings. With the stronger offense and a perfect road record so far, I'll comfortably back Edmonton.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Edmonton owns a 55.3% expected-goal share at 5-on-5, while San Jose sits at just 34.3%.

Oilers vs Sharks combo

While I expect an Edmonton win, I'm also eyeing plenty of goals. Neither team has been stout defensively, with the Oilers ranking 26th in the NHL at 4.0 goals allowed per game.

Tonight's starter, Tristan Jarry, allowed six goals on just 23 shots in his only appearance this season. San Jose is still averaging 3.0 goals per game, while the Over has also cashed in four straight meetings between these teams.

I'm rounding out this combo with a Connor McDavid shots prop. He already has 13 unblocked shot attempts, ranking Top 5 on Edmonton. The Sharks are also surrendering 7.8 SOG per game to centers, giving McDavid a clear path to reach four SOG.

Oilers vs Sharks combo

  • Oilers moneyline
  • Over 6.5
  • Connor McDavid Over 3.5 shots on goal

Oilers vs Sharks player prop: Tyler Toffoli Over 2.5 shots on goal

Tyler Toffoli has been creating consistent offense for the Sharks, tallying four points in as many games while averaging 2.75 shots on goal. He's cleared this number in three straight outings and leads San Jose with 13 unblocked shot attempts.

Toffoli also ranks second on the Sharks with 16 individual shot attempts, which includes shots on goal, misses, and blocked attempts. That underlying volume shows he's consistently looking to fire the puck rather than relying on a few isolated chances.

With Toffoli generating this much shot volume and needing only three shots to cash, I like him to clear the number again at home.

Oilers vs Sharks goal scorer: Leon Draisaitl

Leon Draisaitl has already potted three goals in four games in 2026-27, and his underlying metrics point to more chances to score tonight. The German has a team-best 23 individual scoring chances and seven high-danger chances, showing how consistently he's getting into dangerous areas.

He's scored in two of his previous three outings, and the Sharks remain vulnerable defensively. Draisaitl also enjoyed success against San Jose last season, scoring twice in two meetings.

With such a huge role in Edmonton's high-powered attack, I like Draisaitl to find the back of the net again.
