The Vancouver Canucks are priced as a 52% home favorite tonight in a divisional clash against the Calgary Flames, with puck drop scheduled for 10 p.m. ET at Rogers Arena.
Vancouver struggled defensively in Thursday’s loss to Edmonton, but its offense showed plenty of life. My Flames vs. Canucks predictions expect the Canucks to take advantage of a Calgary team coming off an ugly season-opening defeat.

TOP PICK
Flames vs Canucks prediction: Canucks moneyline
Play up to 55%.
The Vancouver Canucks fell 9-7 to the Edmonton Oilers in their last game, and while they were a disaster defensively, their offense showed plenty of life. That scoring ability could be the difference tonight against a Calgary Flames team coming off a 6-1 loss to Seattle.
Calgary was outshot 32-25 and struggled badly in its own end. Vancouver, meanwhile, had 11 different players record at least one point against Edmonton, highlighting the depth throughout its lineup.
Neither defense inspired much confidence in Game 1, but Vancouver has the more appealing offensive profile and home-ice advantage. I’ll happily take the Canucks at this price.

Flames vs Canucks combo
Aside from a Vancouver win, I also like the Over. These teams allowed 15 combined goals in their season openers, and while it's obviously an extremely small sample, neither defense looked particularly convincing.
The recent head-to-head history also points toward offense, with three of the last four meetings comfortably clearing 6.5 goals.
Marco Rossi is on my radar to score, too. The centerpiece of the Quinn Hughes trade has made an immediate impact, scoring three times in his first two games, including twice against Edmonton on Thursday.
Rossi has also been getting to dangerous areas consistently, already leading Vancouver with four high-danger chances. With his finishing form and early involvement around the net, I like his chances of finding the scoresheet again.

Flames vs Canucks player prop: Matt Coronato Over 0.5 assists
Matt Coronato is coming off a strong season for Calgary, and his playmaking numbers make him an intriguing assist target tonight. He recorded three assists in three meetings with Vancouver last season, giving him a strong track record in this matchup.
Coronato was heavily involved at 5-on-5 last season, recording 16 assists with a 74.29% individual point percentage. In other words, he factored into nearly three-quarters of Calgary’s goals scored while he was on the ice.
Vancouver surrendered nine goals in its opener, and with Coronato maintaining a prominent offensive role, he should have opportunities to create another tonight.
Flames vs Canucks goal scorer: Brock Boeser
Play up to 42%.
Brock Boeser has historically played well against the Flames in his Canucks career, notching 31 points in 39 games. 16 of those points have come from goals, and he netted once in three meetings with Calgary in 2025-26.
More importantly, Boeser averaged three SOG per game in those matchups. He had no issues creating chances against the Flames, who once again look like a defensive liability.
Boeser's underlying numbers also show early promise, generating five individual scoring chances and 0.54 expected goals in just 27:36 of 5-on-5 ice time through two games.
With Boeser already finding the net once this season and continuing to get into scoring areas, I like his chances of adding another tonight.
