Flames vs Canadiens Prediction, Picks & Same-Game Parlay for Tonight’s NHL Game

Two teams, two trajectories and that contrast favors a red-hot Canadiens team hosting a Flames squad that can’t seem to find its footing away from home.

The Montreal Canadiens are piling up wins and host the road-weary Calgary Flames at the Bell Centre on Wednesday, January 7.

My top NHL picks and Flames vs. Canadiens predictions are calling for Montreal to pick up another win with rookie goalie Jacob Fowler and star winger Cole Caufield leaving their mark on tonight’s game.

Flames vs Canadiens prediction

Flames vs Canadiens best bet: Canadiens moneyline (-145)

The Calgary Flames have been a mess on the highway with a 6-13-2 record and the fewest goals per road game (2.24), in addition to the fewest goals per 60 minutes at five-on-five.

As a result, this matchup sets up nicely for the rolling Montreal Canadiens tonight on home ice.

The Habs have an active 6-1-2 heater with an average of 3.89 goals and just 2.44 against, and they’ve tilted the ice in their favor at 5-on-5 with a 51.6 CF%.

Additionally, Habs rookie Jacob Fowler is coming off a 31-save shutout in his latest home start, and I expect him to make enough saves for Montreal to outscore Calgary on Wednesday night at the Bell Centre.

Flames vs Canadiens same-game parlay

Returning to Fowler, he’s posted a solid .903 save percentage and 2.57 GAA with an impressive 6.83 goals saved above expected through his seven NHL appearances, and the Flames have averaged the 10th-most shots per road game (27.8).

For the final leg of this same-game parlay, I’m targeting Habs star Cole Caufield in the shots market. He’s recorded three or more in 11 of his past 17 games while piling up 52 total on 102 attempts.

Caufield also paces the club in both shots and attempts per 60 minutes for the season while ranking in the 95th percentile of forwards in shots on goal.
