A rematch of Saturday's high-scoring clash unfolds in the Lone Star State on Monday evening. My Hawks vs. Rockets prediction backs the game to finish Under the projected total of 230.5 points.
Tipoff is set for 8:30 p.m. ET at Toyota Center, with Houston listed as a 4.5-point home favorite.

TOP PICK
Hawks vs Rockets prediction: Under 230.5 points
Both the Atlanta Hawks and Houston Rockets have been involved in some high-scoring battles early this season, including Saturday's meeting. However, there's a strong case for the Under on Houston's home floor. The Under went 25-18-1 at Toyota Center across the 2025-26 regular season and playoffs, a 58.1% hit rate that ranked seventh in the league for that split.
Houston also allowed a Western Conference-low 106.0 points per home game during the 2025-26 regular season and playoffs, ranking fourth in opponent effective field-goal percentage (51.6%). The Rockets have been effective at slowing the tempo, averaging the second-fewest possessions per game so far this season (102.3) after ranking fourth-fewest at home last season, including the playoffs (100.4).

Hawks vs Rockets combo
This combo starts with my main prediction of the Under on a relatively high total. That number should be much tougher to clear at Toyota Center, where Houston has consistently played stronger defense.
I'm also banking on Nickeil Alexander-Walker continuing his recent shooting struggles against a healthy Rockets backcourt that should provide a tougher defensive challenge on its home floor.
Finally, I'm backing Amen Thompson to continue his strong start on the glass, with Houston's ability to force missed shots creating additional rebounding opportunities.
Hawks vs Rockets combo
- Under 230.5 points
- Nickeil Alexander-Walker Under 24.5 points + rebounds + assists
- Amen Thompson 9+ rebounds
Hawks vs Rockets player props
Hawks player prop: Nickeil Alexander-Walker Under 24.5 points + rebounds + assists
Alexander-Walker has cooled off since his spectacular season opener against the Magic, when he recorded 38 combined points, rebounds, and assists. He's averaged 24.5 PRA over his next two games while shooting a modest 42.9% from the field. The Rockets have consistently played stingy defense at home under Ime Udoka, and their backcourt returns to full strength Monday with Fred VanVleet back after a rest day.
Rockets player prop: Amen Thompson 9+ rebounds
Thompson has picked up right where he left off on the glass, averaging a career-best 10.3 rebounds through his first three games, with totals of 10, 10, and 11. That 11-rebound performance came against these same Hawks on Saturday, and Thompson recorded at least nine rebounds on 32 occasions across the 2025-26 regular season and playoffs.
