Who will win Lions vs Panthers?

NFL analyst Trevor Knapp backs Detroit to keep rolling in his NFL moneyline picks for Week 4.

Our prediction: Lions to win — Yes (65%)

"The Detroit Lion's offense has scored at least 31 points in all three games to start the season, and now it gets to face a Panthers defense that just lost star cornerback Jaycee Horn to a torn quad.

I'm not banking on the Carolina Panthers keeping pace with this high-powered Lions attack."

Our prediction: Lions -3.5 — Yes (51%)

Covers betting expert Chris Vasile breaks down the matchup in his NFL picks against the spread for Week 4:

"Bryce Young has faced the NFL’s third-highest pressure rate, and now he gets a Detroit defense blitzing at the third-highest clip and generating top-eight pressure.

Carolina is also beaten up at receiver, running back, and in the secondary, exactly where Detroit’s deep group of skill players can punish thin depth.

The hook is uncomfortable, but the matchup is too clean. Detroit -3.5 is one of my favorite favorites."

Sunday Night Football total prediction

Outcome Yes probability No probability
Over 51.5 49% 51%

Market lean: Over 51.5 — Yes (49%)

Joe Osborne sees a high-scoring evening in his NFL Week 4 over/under predictions:

"The Lions have opened the season with three straight Overs, averaging 62.6 combined points. The Panthers have shown an ability to light up the scoreboard with games of 37 and 34, but were obliterated for 59 points against the Bears in Week 1 — the lone time they faced a respectable offense.

Much has been made of Detroit’s battered secondary. Carolina is joining the party, placing cornerbacks Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson on injured reserve. Neither team is equipped to slow down the opposing offense.

The Lions can go shot for shot with anyone, while their defense ranks 31st on third down, 31st in the red zone, and dead last in explosive play rate allowed. That should give the Panthers plenty of opportunities to put on a show at home in a game where both teams have the potential to both score and allow 30 points."

Sunday Night Football player props

Brycen Tremayne anytime touchdown prop: Tremayne TD — Yes (12%)

Covers expert Josh Inglis breaks down the value on Carolina's wide receiver in his Week 4 anytime touchdown scorer picks:

"Jalen Coker was practicing on the side at practice on Thursday after exiting Week 3, and Xavier Legette was a DNP. The Panthers are thin at wide receiver against one of the worst pass defenses in football.

The Lions rank 29th in EPA/dropback and success rate, and the injuries to Kerby Joseph (out), Brian Branch (out), and DJ Reed (questionable) only make this more of a pass funnel.

Brycen Tremayne is giving great value at his 8.5x price, which should be closer to 5x. He played 81% of the snaps last week and ran 76% of the routes while getting six targets for 83 yards. If Coker and Legette miss out, this could realistically shorten up to 30%."

Darren Waller anytime touchdown prop: Waller TD — Yes (27%)

Analyst Jon Metler targets the tight end matchup as part of our NFL touchdown combo for Week 4:

"Darren Waller is trading at 27% on Kalshi to score a touchdown, and I'm hitting the button on that number because I price Waller closer to 33% to find the end zone on Sunday Night Football against the Detroit Lions. Hear me out.

This might feel random, but the Lions have already allowed six receiving touchdowns to tight ends through three weeks. The red-zone coverages Kelvin Sheppard utilizes often isolate a linebacker on a tight end, which sets up well for Waller, who grades out as one of the better tight ends at creating separation against linebackers.

All the signs point to Waller having an opportunity to win his matchup when the Panthers get into the red zone, making 27% a number I'm willing to hit."

Sione Vaki anytime touchdown prop: Vaki TD — Yes (18%)

Jason Logan targets value from Detroit's second-string running back in his Lions vs. Panthers predictions:

"Detroit running back Jahmyr Gibbs has the highest odds of scoring a touchdown than anyone in Week 4. Anytime I see percentages like this, I start to look at the RB2 and wonder if they could get some goal line love as well.

Behind Gibbs is third-year RB Sione Vaki, who saw his snap share spike to 31% in Week 2.

Head coach Dan Campbell praised Vaki after the win against New York and we have seen him get a red-zone carry already this season. Detroit is trying to be smart about Gibbs’ wear and tear, which gives Vaki garbage time gains on SNF.

The Panthers have been pushed around on the ground, giving up the most rushing yards to RBs through three games. Carolina also collapses in the red zone, allowing foes to score on a league-high 85.7% trips inside the 20-yard line, with six rushing TDs against."

Lions vs Panthers live markets explained

Kalshi event contracts can be bought and sold as the Lions vs. Panthers unfolds, meaning traders aren't necessarily locked into their original pregame position.

The probabilities will move throughout the game as the score, time remaining, possession, and game state change.

How do Lions vs Panthers prediction markets work?

Kalshi is a federally regulated U.S. exchange where users trade directly on the outcome of real-world future events. Instead of traditional bets, users trade event contracts based on simple Yes/No questions such as "Will the Lions beat the Panthers?"

Contract prices reflect the market's estimated probability of an outcome. A contract trading at 23%, for example, indicates that the market is assigning that outcome roughly a 23% chance of occurring. If the prediction is correct, the contract settles at $1; if it is incorrect, it settles at $0.

How does Kalshi differ from sportsbooks?

At a traditional sportsbook, bettors wager against prices established by the bookmaker. Kalshi instead operates as an exchange, with users trading event contracts against other market participants.

Another major difference is the ability to exit a position before an event is finished. If the probability of your Lions vs. Panthers position increases during the game, you can sell the contract rather than waiting for the final result.

Why trade Lions vs Panthers at Kalshi?

Kalshi offers several features that distinguish prediction markets from traditional pro football betting:

  1. Live flexibility: Contracts can be bought and sold as market probabilities change throughout the game.

  2. Probability-based pricing: Markets display the estimated likelihood of an outcome rather than traditional American odds.

  3. Transparency: Prices are driven by trading activity between market participants.

  4. Federal regulation: Kalshi operates as a CFTC-regulated exchange.
