The case for the Seahawks moneyline

The Seattle Seahawks are slight road favorites to win outright after rival San Francisco edged them last weekend. Seattle is 7-4 straight up when coming off a loss under head coach Mike Macdonald. The team brings a championship-caliber defense to Colorado to face a Denver Broncos offense that's been painfully vanilla to start the season.

The Broncos are also dealing with holes in the secondary as multiple starters manage injuries.

Our Joe Osborne also believes in Seattle as part of his Seahawks vs. Broncos prediction.

The case for the Broncos moneyline

Broncos head coach Sean Payton has taken over offensive play-calling, so expect some added wrinkles to this attack. We’ve seen quarterback Bo Nix put in his best efforts at home, with Denver posting an average of 0.42 points per play versus only 0.28 on the road.

The Broncos are rare home underdogs, going 3-2 SU in those spots under Payton since 2023.

Seahawks vs Broncos moneyline pick & confidence level

Thursday Night Football is a tough test for any team, but traveling to Mile High to play in the thin air of Denver is especially taxing during the short week. The Seahawks’ lack of a consistent ground game puts the offense in less-than-manageable down-and-distance situations, which is why Seattle is second-last in third-down conversions.

Turnovers have also been killing the Seahawks, and Denver's chaos-causing blitz has manifested seven takeaways.

Pick: Broncos Probability:  44%
Confidence:🟡 Lean

Covers COVERS INTEL: Seattle QB Sam Darnold has faced the highest pressure rate per dropback (35.5%), with the Seahawks' protection rated 23rd in adjusted sack rate at FTN. That's boiled down to nine sacks (eight in the past two games). Denver is ninth in sacks (13) and sixth in QB hits (23).

What are prediction markets?

A prediction market allows you to buy and sell shares on the outcome of a future event. Prediction markets are exchange-traded markets. Most prediction market apps allow users to "buy an outcome" for between 1 cent and $1.

The $1.00 rule: The foundation of prediction markets

The difference between sportsbook and prediction market pricing isn't actually that difficult. In fact, you can make a compelling case that American odds are more challenging for beginners to understand than prediction markets and their $1.00 foundation.

Unlike a traditional bet where you wager a specific amount to win a profit, NFL prediction markets operate on a binary contract system.

  • The Winning Side: Always settles at $1.00
  • The Losing Side: Always settles at $0.00

The price of a "Yes" contract is directly related to the aggregate belief about the probability that the event will occur. For example, if a contract for the Chicago Bears to beat the Detroit Lions is trading at $0.51, the market believes they have a 51% chance of victory.
