We were very close to a Super Bowl showdown between the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos last winter.
Thursday Night Football gives us a glimpse into that alternate timeline, with Seattle coming to Mile High to battle Denver.
My Seahawks vs. Broncos combos kick off Week 6, with some fun NFL picks to play for this mid-week matchup on Oct. 15.

Seahawks vs Broncos combo
Playing on a short week is stress enough, but the Seattle Seahawks have to travel and face the energy-sapping thin air at Empower Field. That gives a distinct edge to the home underdog, who has put forth its best efforts in front of the Mile High faithful. The Denver Broncos cover as short home pups.
Seattle TE A.J. Barner is benefiting from having a former tight ends coach as his new offensive coordinator. He’s playing a bigger role in the passing playbook and will be Sam Darnold’s safety blanket against the blitz-heavy schemes of the Broncos. Projections call for 3+ catches from Barner on TNF.
Bo Nix’s passing prowess is questionable, even with Sean Payton taking over play calling. The Seahawks defense doesn’t give up much and brings a stellar pass rush with just the front four, flushing the QB out of the pocket. Nix can do damage with his legs and calls his own number inside the red zone.
Seahawks vs Broncos touchdown combo
Emanuel Wilson has seen his snap shares climb the past two weeks, and with George Halani in “fumble jail”, he’s the RB Mike Macdonald trusts in the red zone (at least until Zach Charbonnet returns). Wilson has scored a touchdown in each of the past two games.
We broke down Bo’s potential to find paydirt on TNF, but how about his top target? Or at least the guy that should be his top target. Jaylen Waddle is frustrated with his lack of action in his first five games in Denver and the squeaky wheel gets some grease. Seattle is a very sound passing defense but has struggled with WR1s to start 2026.
Seahawks vs Broncos milestone combo
Wilson gets the bulk of carries and faces the Denver defense struggling against the run. He rushed for 92 yards versus Arizona in Week 2.
Barner caught five passes against Washington’s blitz-heavy attack, and Seattle takes on a Broncos pass rush that brings extra bodies at a high rate.
Rashid Shaheed is a home run threat, especially against a Denver defense running man coverage at the seventh-highest frequency. The Broncos are likely without shutdown corner Patrick Surtain and could also miss their other starting CB in Riley Moss and SS Talanoa Hufanga.
