The Detroit Red Wings are priced as 57% home favorites tonight against the winless Philadelphia Flyers, with puck drop scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET at Little Caesars Arena.
Philly continues to struggle, and without some key players, my Flyers vs. Red Wings prediction expects the hosts to win this contest on home ice.
Flyers vs Red Wings prediction: Red Wings moneyline
Play up to 61%.
The Detroit Red Wings aren't exactly thriving, having lost three straight. However, the Philadelphia Flyers enter at 0-5-3 while being outscored 31-10, and the Flyers are also missing three important pieces in Cam York, Rasmus Ristolainen, and Travis Konecny.
Detroit's underlying metrics are considerably better. The Wings own a 52.4% even-strength shot-attempt share, compared to just 39.8% for Philadelphia. Detroit also sits nearly 20 percentage points higher in 5-on-5 high-danger chance share at 54.4%.
Dan Vladar hasn't inspired much confidence in net either, entering with an 0-3-1 record and 4.21 GAA. Daniil Tarasov has only made one appearance for Detroit, but he was solid in that outing.
Neither team enters in good form, but Detroit has clearly shown the stronger underlying process, giving me enough confidence to back the Wings at home.

Flyers vs Red Wings combo
I expect a Detroit victory, but I'm targeting a low-scoring affair.
Philadelphia has generated very little offense this season, while Detroit hasn’t exactly been explosive either. They both rank bottom-five in the league in scoring. The Flyers’ poor shot-attempt and high-danger chance shares suggest their scoring issues are more than bad luck. With both teams struggling to create consistent offense, Under 5.5 is appealing.
I'll round out my combo with an Alex DeBrincat shot prop. The Red Wings star leads the team with 35 unblocked shot attempts this season, and he's averaging four SOG per night. DeBrincat has easily cashed the Over in back-to-back games, and Philly is dead last in the NHL in SOG allowed.

TOP PICK
Flyers vs Red Wings player prop: Alex DeBrincat Over 0.5 assists
I'm sticking with DeBrincat here and playing this up to 50%.
It's impossible to ignore his production so far. The winger has four goals and four assists already, and he's snagged an assist in four of his last five contests.
While just one of his assists has been a primary helper, DeBrincat remains heavily involved offensively for Detroit. He has recorded a point on 61.64% of the Red Wings' goals scored while he's been on the ice, and Detroit has generated more high-danger chances during his minutes than with any other skater.
With additional work on PP1 and the Flyers far from elite on the penalty kill, DeBrincat has multiple avenues to another apple.
Flyers vs Red Wings goal scorer: Viktor Arvidsson
Play up to 35%.
Viktor Arvidsson has been a key contributor for the Red Wings early on, already potting three goals in six outings. The Swede is also averaging just under 3.0 shots on goal per game and ranks second on the team with 11 individual high-danger chances and 23 individual scoring chances, further showing how consistently he’s getting into dangerous areas.
A matchup with a struggling Flyers defense only strengthens the case, and all three of Arvidsson’s goals this season have come at Little Caesars Arena.
With additional work on PP1 alongside Detroit’s top offensive weapons, Arvidsson has the shot volume and chance quality to make a strong run at goal No. 4 tonight.
