The Carolina Panthers come home for Week 13 after a road-heavy schedule, but waiting for them is the top team in the NFC, the Los Angeles Rams.

Los Angeles blasted a banged-up Tampa team on Sunday night, while Carolina couldn’t click at San Francisco on Monday.

My early Rams vs. Panthers predictions and NFL picks break down the opening odds, line movement, and more for November 30.

Early Rams vs Panthers spread pick: Panthers +10.5

-110 at FanDuel

The look-ahead line for this matchup was Los Angeles Rams -9.5 before the results of Week 12. And after two disparate primetime performances, the official opener has Los Angeles laying -10.5 on the road in Week 13.

Recency bias feels like it’s powering this spread, and we're seeing some books pad the big home dog with the vig as high as -115. That could be an indication of a dip to the key number of 10 later in the week.

Carolina does have some injuries to key an eye on with star CB Jaycee Horn in concussion protocol and the linebacker corps potentially getting two starters back. The Carolina Panthers stop unit has played well the past four outings — at least compared to their early season stats.

The Rams are capable of taking down this tower of points but do face a tough travel spot on Sunday. Not only are they heading to the East Coast for a 1:00 p.m. ET start — 10 a.m. PT back in California — but the extended forecast for Charlotte is calling for rain on Sunday afternoon.

The Panthers put up more of a fight at home, and I expect this offense to wake up in Week 13 after looking timid in Monday’s loss to the 49ers.

Early Rams vs Panthers total pick: Over 45.5

-105 at FanDuel

Bryce Young will have plenty of intel on the Rams defense this weekend.

Head coach Dave Canales butted heads with Sean McVay and the Rams for a long time as a member of the Seattle Seahawks coaching staff and likely placed some scouting calls to his friends in Tampa Bay (where he was the offensive coordinator).

Carolina didn’t push the ball deep against the Niners defense on Monday but has a talented and towering receiving corps that can win those jump balls. Los Angeles will likely focus on shutting down the Panthers ground game, so we could see more passing from Carolina.

As for the Los Angeles offense, it’s rolling with QB Matthew Stafford playing at a MVP pace. This is the top EPA per play attack since Week 7, scoring less than 34 points only once in the past five games.

As mentioned, Carolina has some injured starters in the second and third level, and if Horn can’t clear concussion protocol, the Panthers will have a tough time limiting L.A.’s receiving corps.

This total opened at 45.5 points after the look-ahead line was as high as 46.5 O/U. There is a lot of wiggle room for bookmakers to move this number between the key stops of 44 and 47 points. Some shops have already dropped the total to 44.5 on Tuesday morning.
