The Washington Mystics and Seattle Storm meet tonight, with the visitors sitting as 3-point favorites.

Both teams come in off three days of rest, and Seattle guard Natisha Hiedeman has a short scoring prop that I'm targeting in my Mystics vs. Storm predictions and WNBA picks for Wednesday, May 27.

Mystics vs Storm prediction

Mystics vs Storm best bet: Natisha Hiedeman Over 13.5 points (-115)

Natisha Hiedeman exposed a major Washington Mystics weakness Sunday, scoring 24 points on 7-for-12 shooting against a defense that still struggles badly in transition.

The Mystics allow 20.8 points per game off turnovers, worst in the WNBA, and the Seattle Storm repeatedly converted those live-ball mistakes into quick offense before Washington could set its half-court defense.

Dominique Malonga is still out of the lineup, which should also expand Hiedeman’s scoring role, and she’s scored at least 14 points in three of her previous four.

Washington failed to contain those actions during the first meeting, resulting in clean perimeter looks throughout the game. Buy Hiedeman up to 14.5 points up to -125. Pass at -130.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Washington guards allow double digits in opponent points off turnovers. Their best defender on the perimeter (Citron) still bleeds 16.0 pts off turnovers. This isn't a personnel problem, it's a systemic one.

Mystics vs Storm same-game parlay

Seattle and Washington combined for 182 points Sunday, but the bigger takeaway was how easily both teams created clean perimeter looks and downhill scoring chances.

Both groups had three full days to attack the same defensive structures again, and Seattle may need to play faster to take advantage of the Mystics' poor transition defense.

Sonia Citron’s 16.5-point prop still looks short after her recent 26 and 30-point outings, especially with Washington repeatedly forcing late help rotations.

Hiedeman also found open perimeter looks in the last meeting, and she’s drained two or more triples in three of her last four contests.

Mystics vs Storm SGP

  • Natisha Hiedeman Over 1.5 made threes
  • Sonia Citron Over 16.5 points
  • Over 158

Mystics vs Storm first basket scorer: Sonia Citron +600

Citron is the Mystics' primary scoring option and their most versatile and reliable scorer.

Shakira Austin should win the opening tip against Stefanie Dolson, and I expect the Mystics to get the ball to their leading scorer early and let her set the tone. At +600, that is a great value wager.
