Expert Week 1 NFL moneyline picks

Cowboys vs. Eagles: Eagles Eagles (-425)

This was going to be a blowout even with Micah Parsons in the mix, so with the All-Pro pass rusher now out of Big D, the Eagles will kick off their title defense with an even bigger rout.

Philly swept last year’s head-to-head matchups by a combined score of 75-13.

Chiefs vs. Chargers: Chiefs Chiefs (-170)

Unorthodox travel to Brazil for a Week 1 opener has me siding with Patrick Mahomes over Justin Herbert, especially with the Chargers already losing Pro Bowl tackle Rashawn Slater to a season-ending injury.

Kansas City has won seven straight meetings against Los Angeles.

Buccaneers vs. Falcons: Buccaneers Buccaneers (-140)

Adding Emeka Egbuka to a Tampa Bay offense that already features Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Bucky Irving?

Give me the Bucs in an NFC South shootout.

Steelers vs. Jets: Steelers Steelers (-155)

If you're looking for scoring, this game isn't for you.

Both offenses are going to struggle moving the ball this season, so I’ll take Mike Tomlin to get the best of Aaron Glenn in his head coaching debut.

This one has 13-10 Steelers written all over it.

Dolphins vs. Colts: Colts Colts (-110)

You’d have to go back to 2013 to find the last time Indy prevailed in a Week 1 game, but that drought ends against a Miami roster that might be in even more disarray than the Colts.

With emotions running high in the wake of Jim Irsay’s passing, Indy will get the job done for its late owner.

Panthers vs. Jaguars: Jaguars Jaguars (-190)

DUUUUVAAALLL!!!

Liam Coen may have come off extremely cringy in his opening press conference, but he’ll have Trevor Lawrence, Brian Thomas Jr., and Travis Hunter firing on all cylinders against a dismal Carolina defense.

Giants vs. Commanders: Giants Giants (+220)

Upset Alert! The Giants have been all the rage during training camp, teasing arguably the most lethal front-four in the league.

You’re going to have to hold your nose with Russell Wilson under center for New York, but don’t forget the Commanders finished with a Bottom-10 defense last season.

New York delivers a surprising blow in Landover.

Cardinals vs. Saints: Cardinals Cardinals (-280)

If there's ever a year for Kyler Murray to put it all together, this is it.

Arizona kicks off 2025 with a win against a Spencer Rattler-led Saints team destined for the worst record in the NFL.

Bengals vs. Browns: Bengals Bengals (-240)

Cincinnati's defense will hold Joe Burrow back when it matters most, but not against the woeful Browns.

Raiders vs. Patriots: Patriots Patriots (-150)

Can anyone name a starter on the Raiders’ defense besides Maxx Crosby?

New England dramatically improved on both sides of the ball during free agency, and the Mike Vrabel era is set to begin with a bang in Foxborough.

49ers vs. Seahawks: Seahawks Seahawks (+115)

Seattle’s defense is starting to resemble the Legion of Boom days, and it’ll feast on a San Francisco offense missing Brandon Aiyuk.

Although Robert Salah will eventually work wonders for the 49ers’ defense, the loss of several veterans will prevent them from hitting the ground running in this divisional clash.

Titans vs. Broncos: Broncos Broncos (-425)

The last No. 1 overall pick at QB to win his Week 1 rookie start was David Carr... in 2002!

Cam Ward should go on to have a strong career in Tennessee, but a blowout awaits against a Broncos team with the potential to overtake Kansas City in the AFC West.

Lions vs. Packers: Packers Packers (-140)

Anytime you lose eight — yes, EIGHT — members of the coaching staff in the offseason, you’re in for some rough sledding to kick off Week 1.

Detroit will eventually find its footing, but it won’t come against a much-improved Packers team at Lambeau.

Texans vs. Rams: Rams Rams (-150)

With Laremy Tunsil and Shaq Mason no longer in Houston, the Texans may have the worst O-line in all of football.

Led by Jared Verse, the Rams' pass rush really hit its stride in the second half of last season, so I like Los Angeles to kick the year off with a dub at home.

Ravens vs. Bills: Ravens Ravens (-110)

Baltimore bolstered its defense in the offseason, drafting safety Malaki Starks and pass rusher Mike Green while adding two veteran corners in Jaire Alexander and Chidobe Awuzie.

Considering Buffalo made no significant improvements aside from replacing an over-the-hill Von Miller with an equally washed Joey Bosa, the Ravens will get revenge at Highmark Stadium after January’s heartbreaking playoff loss.

Vikings vs. Bears: Bears Bears (+105)

J.J. McCarthy threw for 300+ yards just once during his college career at Michigan.

I’ll be taking a wait-and-see approach with the Vikings’ pivot, so give me a Bears team that will benefit greatly from the addition of offensive guru Ben Johnson and new DC Dennis Allen.
