The Washington Commanders head to Lambeau Field for a showdown with the Green Bay Packers on Thursday Night Football.
Both of these teams played lockdown defense on Sunday and I'm expecting a similar effort from these stop units in Week 2.
See how that factors into my NFL picks in the player props markets with my best free Commanders vs. Packers props for Thursday, September 11.
Commanders vs Packers TNF props
Daniels Over 21.5 completions (-105)
Jacobs Under 78.5 rush yards (-110)
Gary to record a sack (+110)
Jayden Daniels Over 21.5 Completions (-105)
The Green Bay Packers held the highly-regarded Lions offense to just 13 points in Week 1. They did a great job of preventing explosive plays downfield but did concede shorter passes with Jared Goff finishing with 31 completions.
Meanwhile, Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels completed 19-of-30 passes for 233 yards in a 21-6 win against the Giants. It's worth noting that his receivers had three drops and should be more sure-handed with the Week 1 jitters in the rearview mirror.
The Commanders also had a positive game script last week and should be forced to pass more on TNF since they're installed as 3.5-point road dogs.
Entering this year, Daniels had more than 21.5 completions in the previous nine games that he had started and finished. I'm betting on the 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year to eclipse that number again.
Josh Jacobs Under 78.5 Rushing Yards (-110)
Josh Jacobs was limited to 66 rushing yards on 19 rush attempts in Week 1. The Packers running back has now rushed for fewer than 70 yards in six of his last eight games.
Jacobs will face a Commanders defense that was dominant last week, allowing just six points on 3.7 yards per play.
Washington held Giants running backs to 30 rushing yards on 15 carries and had the highest graded run defense in the league (88.3) per PFF in Week 1.
Rashan Gary to Record a Sack (+110)
With blocking schemes focused on stopping the newly-acquired Micah Parsons, things should open up for Rashan Gary.
Gary led Green Bay with five pressures (one sack, one QB hit, and three hurries) in Week 1. The 2024 Pro Bowler has picked up at least half a sack in seven of his last 11 games.
Daniels' tendency to hold on to the ball and try to extend plays behind a below-average line has resulted in him taking plenty of sacks. The Washington pivot was sacked 47 times last year and three times in Week 1.
