The public perception of TCU isn't great after a pair of early-season losses to North Carolina and UCF, but much of the Horned Frogs' struggles early in 2026 have been due to self-inflicted wounds.
In their season opener, TCU committed 11 penalties, allowed a safety, fumbled, and was stopped on downs twice on fourth-and-short. It's easy to see how the outcome of that game could have been different.
Last weekend, TCU had more first downs and was +77 in net yards against UCF, but four turnovers and 11 penalties led to a one-score loss.

The Horned Frogs haven't been able to create much running room either, averaging 1.2 yards per carry against UCF, 3.4 yards per carry against Arkansas State, and 2.7 yards per carry against North Carolina.
