If Virginia Tech wants any hope of making the NCAA Tournament, it will need a win over Wake Forest today in the ACC Tournament.

That very aspect of the Hokies being on the tournament cusp while their opponents aren’t will reveal itself today.

Read why I like Virginia Tech to cover in my Virginia Tech vs. Wake Forest predictions and college basketball picks on Tuesday, March 10.

Wake Forest vs Virginia Tech prediction

Wake Forest vs Virginia Tech best bet

Wake Forest vs Virginia Tech best bet: Virginia Tech -2.5 (-110)

If Virginia Tech limits Wake Forest's transition, they have a clear path to winning. The last meeting illustrates this: the Hokies won by 20 points in a 61-possession game. That’s hard to ignore.

Va Tech wants this in the halfcourt because its matchups are so exploitable there. They score at 1.06 PPP on Attack & Kick (91st percentile) against a Wake defense that allows well above-average scoring on such sets. That’s just one advantage. I’ll take the Hokies.

Wake Forest vs Virginia Tech same-game parlay

I was expecting to see a 2.5 three-point number for Bedford here, so I’ll gladly take the over 1.5 number in this same-game parlay.

He’s made at least two threes in four of his last five games. In addition, he has a strong matchup for some of the elements outlined in my best bet.

Wake Forest vs Virginia Tech SGP

  • Virginia Tech -2.5
  • Jailen Bedford over 1.5 threes

Our beyond the arc SGP: Production from within

The first leg of my longshot parlay aims to continue exploiting some of the penetration issues Wake has had this season. This assist number on Hammond feels short, given his facilitation role in the offense.

I paired it with Juke Harris over 21.5 points. He’s one of the most talented scorers in the league, and the Hokies defense is not anything to write home about.

Wake Forest vs Virginia Tech SGP

  • Virginia Tech -2.5
  • Jailen Bedford over 1.5 threes
  • Ben Hammond over 3.5 assists
  • Juke Harris over 21.5 points
