Wizards vs Cavaliers prediction: Cavaliers -9.5
This feels like a great get-right spot for the Cleveland Cavaliers, with the 9.5-point spread playable up to -10.5.
Cleveland's recent non-covers have been misleading. The Cavs led Brooklyn by 16 entering the fourth before getting outscored 41-29. Then, Anthony Edwards hit a meaningless three at the end of overtime to steal Minnesota a cover in the following game.
Without those two finishes, I think this spread is closer to -11.5 or -12.5.
The matchup helps, too. The Washington Wizards have a +17.1 net rating with Anthony Davis as their lone big, but a -14.1 net rating when Alex Sarr or Deandre Ayton share the floor with AD.
Cleveland has the size and spacing to punish those clunky two-big lineups and create separation.
COVERS INTEL: Per Basketball-Reference.com, the Cavaliers have a -2.72 "Simple Rating System" (SRS), which blends point differential with strength of schedule, and the Wizards have a -15.87 SRS.

I’m risking only a quarter-unit (0.25u) on all NBA combos moving forward, and this one gives me a clean path without asking every leg to tell the same story.
Cleveland can control this game and still allow Washington’s highest-usage player to get his touches. If the Cavs create separation, Wizards wing Kyshawn George should have plenty of chances to keep firing while Washington chases points.
On the other end, James Harden can do his damage early against a backcourt matchup I like before Cleveland potentially takes control late.
That’s the sweet spot here: Cleveland wins comfortably, George gets there on volume, and Harden handles enough of the scoring load to clear 20 points.

Kyshawn George's 15+ points is tradable up to 50%.
According to CleaningTheGlass.com, George has the highest usage rate on the team, and he's facing one of the NBA's weakest defensive backcourts. He's averaging 17.8 points per game and has scored at least 18 points in three of his four games.
Plus, Davis, Wizards point guard Trae Young, and No. 1 overall pick A.J. Dybantsa, who is making his NBA debut, will all get more attention from Cleveland's defense, which should help George get quality looks.
Cavaliers player prop: James Harden 20+ points
James Harden's 20+ points prop is good up to 45%.
Young is basically a lesser version of Harden: a ball-dominant, foul-drawing point guard who controls the offense and doesn't offer much defensive resistance. The difference is Harden has an MVP on his resume, and he's owned this matchup.
Harden's teams are 10-0 straight-up all-time against Young's, and The Beard has scored 20+ points in eight of those meetings.
Harden is more of a table-setter at this stage of his career, but this feels like a spot where he looks to get his against Trae.
At this price, I expect the matchup will bring out a little extra aggression.
